New ticker, plus an OT vacation question

I tried. I asked dh if we could go to Disney in Oct. Checking in on Oct 1 to take advantage of the free kids deal. Nope, our next vacation is skiing . Not that I have anything against skiing, but we go everyother weekend during the winter already and now he wants to take a week long vacation to Vermont? Okay, I'll deal. He did say we could go in Spring of 2012, which is somthing.

Now on to my OT question:

I asked a few months ago about an anniversary vacation spot and got lots of good suggestions. Dh didn't really like any of them and has recently said that he would like a relaxing vacation, with lots of just laying around the beach/pool (who is this preson????).

So he suggests the Caribbean. Great, that narrows it down a lot. So anyone been to the Caribbean. Good places to stay? Places to avoid?

Oh, our annivesary is at the beginning of July.

There are some really good deals right now for the US Virgin Islands.

We spent our honeymoon in 2001 (hey it's 10 years this year!) at the Buccaneer on St. Croix. We found it very relaxing. I'd love to go to St. John - it looks beautiful.
I wish my DH wanted to go to the Caribbean!

How about cruising? (we have an early July anniversary too)

We enjoyed our Exotic Caribbean cruise (our Grand Cayman stop was cancelled). We loved Roatan and Cozumel. Belize City--best tip...do a tour through the ship...private tour guides almost had half of the family miss the last tender).

We bought a pound of coffee in Roatan at a shop for $5 and wished that we bought more of it. Los Cincos Soles store in Conzumel had excellent shopping for all budgets.
