(MICHIGAN) A newly conducted study of one woman shows that hot flashes can help a woman prepare for the challenges of running in warm weather. Says out subject, Maura: "I'm so happy to have these hot flashes since our winter has been so cold. It really helps me feel like I'm running in 80 degree weather. Now if only they could duplicate the humidity, I'd be thrilled. It will really help me train for the Minnie 15K in May at Disneyworld."

Additional subjects are being recruited for phase two of this test. Interested women runners of "a certain age" can send an email to.......................

My sweet princess should be ready for a race in the desert then. I still think it's me that causes the hot flashes, or is that headaches?

Perhaps to simulate humidity, move the TM in the bathroom and run while steaming it up with the hot shower. Coordinating timing on the hot flash maybe your limiting factor for the study ;)

Congrats on your 4 miler!
