This is a heads up, do not despair post. Learn from my mistakes

I purchased the Disneyland You Are Here and tumbler, no problem. Stock was low around 1pm, but they still had some. You bring the one you choose to the counter, and they take it and give you a pre-wrapped one. So, don't waste time choosing the perfect tumbler, it's not the one you take home.

California Adventure, different story.

They had plenty of both in the morning. I figured I would pick them up on the way back to Grand CA at end of the day. Mistake. They were sold out of the tumblers. I asked if they could get me one from the back and the barista told me they were sold out, IF they received anymore, they would put them out the next day. This would have been awful if I had saved this for my final day. We still had a few days so I didn't despair. Plus, I saw them wheeling carts and carts of these things out at both parks on previous days.

Where the tumblers and mugs are, they re-did the display with the acrylic tumblers. A nice display, I'm sure it took some time to set it up. All this to get dismantled in a few hours.

Next morning, I went to the Starbucks in DCA and lo and behold, and entire shelf FULL of the DCA tumblers. Lesson here is that they hold back stock. They only set out a certain amount daily, so if it's your last day, get it. Don't delay. They will not give you one from the back.

I think they are trying to mitigate the Ebayers. I was in line both times with people with the max allowed to purchase. Their kids had an armload too. They are clearly buying to resell on Ebay, and depleting stock.

I'm sure you've seen pictures online and on blogs. They new mugs and tumblers are adorable. If you collect these, you'll want them. The new Disneyland mug is purple inside

Happy shopping!

Just walked in the shop in DCA and line is almost to door so didn't check, will check later. One consolation is that many ebaye scoundrels will probably get stuck with stock they don't want when these become easier to get in a couple weeks like the others.

There has been a dedicated register (by Clarabelle's Ice Cream) for mugs, and a few other items (water...).

You Are Here mugs have a wide range of collectors (not specifically Disney), so a wider market.

Yep I see that register now. Decent supply there and by the main registers.

Yeah i have a few from places i have traveled like Paris, London, Oktoberfest, etc. i just personally wouldn't buy one from somewhere i've never been.

This is great information! I am hoping to get both tumblers and the new Disneyland mug when we are there in 10 days and I've been a bit nervous about them being sold out the entire trip. You have given me hope! :)

Is there a new YAH mug for both DL and DCA? Ive seen pics of the coffee tumblers and they are so cute!

I think in 10 days you will have an even a better chance. When the first DLR YAH cups came out, our neighbors and friends asked to pick aome up for them because they were sold out when they were there. We went a couple weeks later and there were stacks and stacks of them everywhere, even in the Starbucks in DTD. I think its mainly the initial ebay quick buckers who try to sell to the "gotta have it now cause its new" crowd.

They have a zillion, they restock every morning. But once they are out for the day, it's done. Don't wait til your last day to get one.

The reason why is that the "back" is actually a totally different area! There aren't huge stock rooms behind each store, instead having a common stock area for most of the park. There are some smaller storage areas, but those aren't much bigger than closets. So, they have to transport the mugs from the warehouse to the store, which only happens at certain times, particularly at night!

One consolation is that many ebaye scoundrels will probably get stuck with stock they don't want when these become easier to get in a couple weeks like the others.

You can only hope! The ebay pirates are just horrible-ruining people's trips when they may not be able to come back in a week or two because they will be gone! I'd love to see them get totally screwed!

Our experience at both parks was different. At Market House in DL, CMs told me that the IASW tumblers on the shelf on the refrigerator case in the front, center are for display only. There were no IASW tumblers on the regular shelves on the sides where the lines snake by. (The YAH FL mugs are kept there regularly -- no need to ask for those at the registers.) CMs told me to go straight to the registers to ask for those tumblers. You will receive them (as many as you want -- I was not given a limit) pre-wrapped in tissue paper. If you see a tumbler on the display shelf, then they are in stock at that time. If there isn't one on display, then they are sold out for the day. If someone takes the tumblers from the display shelf up to the registers, then others might see the empty shelf and assume that the tumblers are sold out for the day. I've purchased the tumblers several times at Market House and been told these same directions by CMs each time.

We purchased our DCA tumblers in the evening yesterday at the merchandise register between FF&P and Clarabelle's Ice Cream. The new YAH mugs and the tumblers were both on the shelves. I was not given a purchase limit (but I also didn't buy out the store!). The CM told me that the tumblers had sold out completely twice already, but that neither item is limited. Both will be resupplied regularly from now on, so they should be easier to buy as time goes on and the novelty wears off.

Saturday morning I was second in line for my coffee, the guy at the register was buying the NEW mugs.

When I realized he was wiping out the shelf stock, I asked if anyone in line had planned to buy a mug.
Before he could get them all, I started grabbing them too and passing them to those in line.

When the CM totaled his purchase it was right at $600. The guy had a huge bag for all of them.
The shelf for NEW mugs was empty and the park had been open less than 15 minutes.

I wish they'd put a limit on them.

To clarify: the YAH mugs for DL are supposed to be sold only at the Starbucks on Main Street (Market House) and the YAH mugs for DCA are supposed to be sold only at the Starbucks on BVS (Fiddler, Fifer, & Practical). The Starbucks in DTD are corporate owned stores, so they sell lots of YAH mugs for the area (e.g. Orange County, L.A., California, even Las Vegas, etc.), but they are not supposed to sell Disney YAH mugs. To buy those specific mugs, you have to enter the parks.

How new are the YAH mugs? I bought one of each over Labor Day weekend. Are there new ones since then?

I got them for a friend but I'm headed back next week and I'm sure she'd want them if they are brand new.

I happened to have a friend at DCA on October 3rd which is when the new DCA mugs were released and he got me one. The DL ones came out in August I believe...

Yep the DL came out in early August. I was there on the 13-14 and they were sold out :( Heading back next weekend and hoping to get both the DL and DCA ones!

They're averaging $30/mug plus shipping on eBay. Seriously time for Disney to be selling these puppies online themselves- they & Starbucks are leaving so much money on the table.
