The waiting in the standby queue.
(Oh, and Patrick.)
Real short I hear. Well it was for us anyway, even without FP+.

The ones that looked real to me are:
The Matterhorn
Greenland
Neuschwanstein Castle
African Savannah
Sydney
Great Wall of China
Pyramids
Monument Valley, Utah
Fiji
Iguazu Falls
Eiffel Tower
Epcot
It was reported with pictures and videos when they were flying over most of these locations so at least some of the footage is real.
All the animals in all scenes are CGI, the polar bears, whale, elephants.
All the transitions, obviously fake
The people walking on the Great Wall of China
The Taj Mahal
Tinker Bell is real though![]()
So every scene is real except the Taj Mahal. Hmm doesn't sound mostly fake. I guess they could remove the animals from 3 of the scenes, but why? And people on the great wall.
And to me the problem is that it's so clearly fake. If they would've left the scenery on it's own, or maybe hire some actors to be there, like they did with the old Soarin it would've been 1000 times better. My favorite attraction at Disney. Always enjoyed the old, though the film quality in the last few years really took away from the experience.
Love the new! CGI isn't a problem for me if it's done well... and for me this is absolutely wonderful![]()
not a lot of motion. She might get scared with the transitions, each one has something coming at you...I would recommend you watch videos of the rideLooking for opinions on whether the new ride will be too scary for an almost 6 year old who is well over the minimum height. She is fine with themed rides like Haunted Mansion, POC etc. but hesitant about roller coasters as she says they make her sick. Is there really a lot of actual motion to the ride? Thanks.

I'm not saying it's the worst attraction ever, it's till beautiful but I was just disappointed with the CGI use.

I agree with the "you don't get a sense of flying" on the new film.
It's very odd that the old film was allowed permission to fly over a US Navy carrier, but not the Taj Majal...
But a few of the location choices were odd. Why Sidney Harbor? (With the focus on the bridge, I didn't see the Opera House the 1st time) I know it's famous, but what makes it a sensory flying experience?
Why did it have to end on a virtual fireworks show I'll never see with fireworks over Spaceship Earth?
yeah I understand that. I would've been fine with no animals on the Greenland portion, just the location. I just don't get the need to throw something at you for each transition.Well they probably tried, but just think how many drives it took that golfer to just miss the camera.
Now tell that Polar Bear to wait for the right moment, and that whale to jump out (same scene by the way)..
But maybe they will get a lot of feedback and remove the animals, and it becomes 1000 times better.![]()
its a neat place... But there is a real Harbor Bridge climb... Why doesn't the scene start or end up there?Loved Sydney Harbor, was fun to see it again.
They could have flown over Spaceship Earth and ended in Illumniations.Well since you wonder about "sense of flying", that is the way to see EPCOT fireworks over SE. Plus I think they tried to somewhat follow the old ending-except you were not in Cali.
Well yeah, I mean, since she has her vacation home right there in WDW, she's easy to get in for filming.![]()

I guess the chose to end in EPCOT, like the original ended in DL.For WDW it would have made sense to have a "reverse story" and start in EPCOT, then fly into a country as a firework went off over that country.
I believe the only animals were the horses in the one Mojave desert scene.yeah I understand that. I would've been fine with no animals on the Greenland portion, just the location. I just don't get the need to throw something at you for each transition.
Like the castle, and Sydney and the hot air balloons didn't need animals, it was just beautiful. How many animals were there in the old Soarin?
The smells weren't that noticeable. I remember grass from the Kilamanjaro scene, flowers during the Taj Mahal and beach from the Fiji one.I believe the only animals were the horses in the one Mojave desert scene.
How many noticeable scents in the new Soarin'? Watched it a few weeks ago at DCA and really didn't notice any scents. We watched the old Soarin' at DCA in May and scents weren't enabled at that time.
