New show onboard..

Sorry if this has been posted already, but just received an email from All Seas Travel and this tidbit was included...

We have heard talk for the past several months of a new show opening soon on Disney Cruise Line. We are now very close to a formal announcement as to when the new show, "Golden Mickeys", will open. What we do know is that initially the show will debut on the Wonder. The Magic will then pick up the show several months later.

One thing that we frequently hear from our repeat Disney Cruisers is that although they love the shows, they would like to see something new. Rumor has it that "Golden Mickeys" will be Disney Cruise Line's best show yet!

I will be going on my first cruise 9/14 and hope this will be part of that cruise. But then again, being it is my first cruise I haven't seen any of the shows so they will all be new to me; but it would be nice to be one of the first cruises to experience a new show.

Last week, I called the DCL to ask several questions about my upcoming 4-night Wonder cruise. During my conversation with DCL CM, she told me about the Golden Mickeys show and said that it will begin sometime during the Fall season on the Wonder. She also mentioned that on the 4-day cruise, it will be shown on the 2nd evening, replacing the Magician show. She did not mention whether this new show will be included on the 3-night cruise.

Wow! Can't wait to see the "Golden Mickey" show! I had also heard that they will be replacing Hercules with a new Mulan show. There were auditions for Mulan earlier this summer and I recall seeing a post on here that a DISboarder tried out for it! All of their shows are super, in my opinion. On our last sailing (last week), I spoke with many new cruisers who unfortunately missed several or most of the stage shows. Why do you think this is? More time for excursions? Just too tired from all the other fun activities? We need to get the word out about the shows!

Oh...if this is true, I am very excited. I will be taking my nephew on the August 28th 3-day for his 10th birthday present. How cool if we're the first to see this new show!

Well if they do change him if enough people are unhappy mabye they will change him back!!! (hopefully it just won't be an issue.)

That's a good point....remember in the 80's when they re-formulated coke...there was such a backlash that they brought back the old coke and renamed it "classic coke"....

I think if this happens with Mickey....we'll eventually have a classic Mickey!!!

They've changed his look so many times just to keep up with the times. I think any change would be something fresh and new.
