:scared1: I'm a shoe person, love  love shoes. Please tell me you can walk in these new style shoes. My Gosh my DH is 6'3" I'm 5'4" so I love high heels but the height of these new shoes scare me.

Maybe if I was in my 20's it would be different, but I'm afraid of falling and breaking something. :scared1: I do have to say I love the styles but the height is very, very :scared1:

What shoes?

.

Do you mean the spikes with the platforms in front that raise you about 5 inches?

I was in Macy's the other day. They had a large selection of shoes like these. I was tempted to try on a few but was afraid I would fall off.:upsidedow

Actually, I find the platform makes the shoe much easier to walk in. It reduces the heel height, sometimes dramatically. What looks like a five inch heel or more, becomes three or even two and a half once the platform is factored in. I love platform heels ~ peep toe, preferably!! ;)

I have a couple pair of these and Love them !! They don't look exactly like the ones pictured but are the same style.

I so agree, on sat I bought some 5 inch heels with a platform on them, I went out at night and wore them danced a lot and my feet did not hurt at all by the end of the night.. yesterday i woke up with sore legs but it was because of the dancing.

If you're afraid of a heel, the platform sole is the way to go. I bought these and was able to wear them to a wedding/reception for most of a Saturday.

I hate wearing heels! Recently I decided to just give my few remaining pairs to Goodwill. DD 4 said "Mommy that's really nice of you to give your pretty high heeled shoes away so someone who has better balance can use them."

I'm already very tall and I think those platform styles would just be too much even if they do "reduce" the heel somewhat.

eta I do love the look of most of those styles though and wish I felt I could wear them!

Am I alone wondering why only women are put through all this style stuff? Just because the designers and manufacturers put this stuff out there why do so many women feel they have to buy it? Personally I think it is bull. There is nothing wrong with wearing shoes that are comfortable and safe to walk in.

Opinions in comfort vary by person. I enjoy wearing heels. Platform heels are extremely easy to walk in and very comfortable. I don't feel like I have to buy anything... I buy what I LIKE!

Those are cute but I'd be afraid that I'd feel like I was on stilts and I'd fall. ;)

Me too!!!! You have to try them on to see what we mean. I have some 4-inch platforms that I could stand in all day. The platform makes all the difference. :thumbsup2

I agree with you. I LOVE heels, and primarily, that is what I wear during the week. I'm not so much into the platforms as they look silly on me, but I don't mind wearing a high heel. No one is forcing me to buy these styles. I buy them because I like them. But then, I'm a shoe person so I have met very few shoes that I didn't like!

I think it'd be nice if you gave some of us a little more credit. I long ago realized that uncomfortable shoes were not worth the pain and that there WERE plenty of great looking pumps that were comfortable and safe to walk in. I'm a shoe person, I wear heels a lot, and it's certainly not due to some desire to please a designer in NYC. It's because I like how I look in them and they complement my outfit that day.

If you ever read fashion magazines, you'd see that there are plenty of designer items that never get worn off the runway because the general public doesn't buy into it.

I love platforms with sky-high heels. I get to pretend I am a staggering 5'5"! :)
