New security measures

I keep reading about "Do not disturb" signs being gone and that security will come into your room even if you're there taking an afternoon rest(or who knows what you might be doing). So, do you have any control over when they check or clean your room? This makes me uncomfortable. What if my young adult DD wants to go back to the room on her own and someone insists on coming into the room with her? I guess my question is, how intrusive are they being about these new security measures? I'm hoping it won't effect us like where they are coming by when we're resting or trying to get ready to go someplace. If it feels like we have no privacy, I can totally see the rest of the family NOT wanting to return to Disney anymore.

You do not control when they do security check. It is one of people's major complaints.

Take the phone off the hook also if napping.

This is getting ridiculous! I have a handicapped child who, on vacation, will sleep at least 12 hours in a day. If they disturb us, I will let them have it.

Reading Dis boards you will see they are doing Daily security checks on everyone. Refer to Its For Your Saftey Thread.

I don't think any of these measures will do what you hope. They will come in.

It seems that specifically telling them not to disturb you is almost a trigger for housekeeping to involve security. I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe email guest relations and see if they have any suggestions because of your situation.

The poster you quoted is well aware of what is going on based on their participation of multiple threads and knows that security checks are occurring not that "they have the right to enter" and the policy is left at that.

Yes the sign says that but you know what is going with all the threads. It's fine if you choose to not believe anyone's experience but please don't present the issue to the poster in that way as it's very misleading and could be construed that it's not happening like many posters have advised is happening.

All contain various experiences from postitive to negative to what I would say more neutral experiences. I will say from all what is being said there doesn't appear to be a uniform approach being utilized; unfortunately that leaves unknowns for guests at the present moment. I'm hopeful though over time that the policy, as with new policies, will be adjusted and worked on.

I will say though I do agree with posters who have provided the following information as at least you have a venue to contact Disney with your personal concerns. Jennasis had a quick finding post just posted on the "for your safety thread" so I have quoted it.

Since this issue seems to have hands wringing as passionately as the dog issue did, please take a moment to send an email to all the appropriate places voicing your displeasure about it. Those are:

I am actually going to send one myself. I may not have a problem with the "intrusion" but once again, the ham fisted way they roll things out with no consistency in implementation amongst the CM's needs to be brought to their attention.

Some of those threads are frustrating because it's the same people posting their same opinion or experience over and over and over. I used to wonder how people have tens of thousands of posts! In any event, I'm pretty sure I can post whatever I like, even if you don't agree with it.

I can understand the frustration truly--goes with also have multiple threads on the topic at hand since you're bound to run into the same thing being said that was said in another thread. But it's a personal thing if you don't believe anyone's story or not.

Your post made it sound as if Disney has just replaced the sign and that was it when there has been (and the OP already said they kept reading about the sign being removed) evidence of daily trash service for DVC members and a multitude of experiences provided where they have had action not just a simple swap in signage--but your opinion on the integrity of the posts appears to play into your responses. YMMV.

But really what does your personal feelings on the various threads/experiences/whatever have to do with this thread where the poster was asking about "I guess my question is, how intrusive are they being about these new security measures?". Your response was misleading. That's all I'm commented about on it. Frankly I don't care if you don't believe people-that's your personal opinion and I'm not against you having your own opinion (other than it's hard to have open dialogue on threads when it's met with "you sure that's how it happened" type comments) but I felt your post was misleading and masked as "nope nothing's actually happening" and it's more evident simply because you've participated in the various threads with questioning people's experiences.

It's just as easy to link threads (or advise about the other threads) and let the poster come to their own conclusion on the veracity of their content.

Can't believe the one I just read (new security measures thread) Insisting on an immediate room "security check" for woman and her daughter...sitting in their pajamas eating breakfast. Have they totally lost their minds and all sense of propriety?
