New Security Measures for MK Guests; UPDATES: Page 12 - Post 222; Live Reports - Pgs. 18-20

Ok, sorry. I just thought you were referring directly to the post you quoted.
No worries - We are staying at the Grand in Sept and I am not worried about this because I can't believe that they are going to ask guests paying sometimes as much as $1k/night/room to go through a horrible security screening process.

I guess I'm just confused about resort-hopping. So, say I'm leaving MK in the middle of the day to do some drinking at the monorail resorts. If you got on the monorail at MK and got off at Grand Flo, no bag check (since you were screened upon entering the park). But then from Grand Flo to Poly, you'd get a bag check. Then from Poly to Contemporary, another bag check, and then Contemporary to MK, another bag check?

That's what it looks like. So, if resort hopping, make sure that whatever you are carrying is allowed in the parks since the process would be the same.

We are going to Chef mickeys- to return to POR we are thinking to walk to the MK to take a bus, not go into the park. Would we have to go thru security to do this?

I do not know where that security point is, but I suspect that you will be able to circumvent it.

You can't really walk to the TTC from the other monorail resorts. I refuse to believe that this is true - 3 bag checks to go to Epcot when paying premium $$$ to stay at a monorail resort would be beyond stupid.
technically you can walk to the TTC from Poly and Grand Floridian, like I said on my edit from the Contemporary it would be 2 security checks, one at the monorail at the Contemporary and one when you arrive at Epcot. But I see your point.

So, is anyone here that is answering ACTUALLY there today? Or are we all just speculating based on the few photos posted? I'd like to hear how it is going and the specifics on logistics from folks who are actually there experiencing it...not that they should be taking precious vacation time to share with us on the DIS ;)

I think we are waiting for @yulilin3 to take one for the team again ;)

It would be about 2 miles. Probably take less time to go through additional security points.

It all depends on who's working the table that day. We don't use a stroller/scooter/wheelchair at Disney, but I've been behind people that do. Some are checked thoroughly and others are given a quick glance and that is it. The same goes for bag checks. My purse has multiple pockets and I always unzip all of them for bag check. Some look in every open pocket and some glance in one and hand it back.

This is what I've experienced also - all depends on the security person. I have a small backpack with 6 zippers - I always unzip all before I get up to the security person and some check them all, and some don't. When I've had our larger camera in it, sometimes I've been asked to remove it so they can see underneath, and sometimes not. I've also witnessed people having to empty strollers (especially) the bottom compartment of bags (which i think is fair), but others will just wave them on. I've had no issue with security at Disney - many times it's the people going through security that either think they don't need to open all their bags like 'the rest of us' or those that are not prepared to have all zippers/compartments looked at and as a result are actually causing the delays. I'm happy to have all compartments checked and walk through the metal detector when asked - it's a small inconvenience / short time delay that helps keep everyone safe.
