I have been buying stuff now to start a book. I was scrambling to find sayings, poems, etc. I found a tablet book of lots of summer sayings. I think it is called the summer stack or something....I got it at joannes. I believe it says it is vellum paper, but you have to cut the sayings out. I am not sure how I am supposed to use this. You do have to cut them out, right? And if so, it looks sloppy when I glue them on the paper. Am I doing something wrong? It isn't a sticker and you can't use a popsicle stick to scrape it either. I need your help. I did one page by cutting the saying out and it looks soooo sloppy, ya know?
TIA

Well vellum always looks crappy when glued- I know what your talking about but ive never used them-

How I do it is no cut as close and use brads/eyelets to ancor it to the page, put a frame around it and glue the eges behind the frame or put a sticker or equiv on a corner and ancor it only on the corner behind the sticker etc

There is vellum tape adhesive that is made by Scotch but I found it still left a mark that I could see through the vellum. If the piece of vellum is small enough, I run it through my Xyron "X" and it lays down adhesive over the whole thing for a uniform look. Xyron is made is larger sizes too so you could get a larger one for larger pieces of vellum, but if you go that route, I would wait for a 40% off coupon and get it at Michael's or Joann's.

Using brads or eyelets is a great idea too, as is putting an embellishment *on top* of the adhesive mark.

I've used quite a few of those sayings on vellum for various pages as accents to the theme of the page. What I generally due is cut them off the page (using my big paper cutter to get the section I want out) and then trim it to the size I want (not too close) with my personal cutter. I use the vellum tape to adhere it to a piece of coordinating cardstock and that usually disguises the tape. You really have to give it a good rub though. Also the cardstock tends to pop the lettering more than if it is on the page alone.
