New Rumor for Campground loops

Just got off the phone with CRO inquiring to see if any late Dec. 08 - early Jan. 09 campsites are in the system yet. Got the same old answer. Nothing available yet. She did say........she's heard a rumor that they were holding back releasing the camground because they were gonna be renaming loops or possibly adding another category ( preferred, full, partial etc )

Just thought I'd throw this out there. We all know CM's dont always have the best information when it comes to things that might happen

Howdee folks. This is my first post on this board. I have been checking daily for a few weeks to try and get a campsite (full hookup or preferred) for Dec 6-Dec 20 '08. almost nothing available right now. By searching for single day at a time i did find one day available so I got it, and will add other days when they become available. I called today and asked whats going on, I can't believe the Fort is all booked up this far out for early to mid Dec '08. The guy I talked to this time sounded like he knew his stuff. He said much of the Fort hasn't been released for booking yet for that period. He said because of the limited sites campared to the countless hotel rooms, they hold back releasing campsites this far out, probably to keep the snowbirds from booking the whole place for the winter. He said the business office gives the orders for when to release more sites for booking and its unpredictable as to when. Of course he said to just keep checking daily untill I get my site booked, and not to worry, there will be more sites available. My whole family is totally in love with Fort Wilderness, so we were kind of freaking out when we were told its all booked up except pop-up sites and cabins.The guy's explaination today eased our worries a lot. He also said that when we check site availability on the WDW site, we get exactly the same results as if we called them. So, I will continure to check online daily untill i get my covetted 2 weeks in mid Dec 2008.

I was playing around on the wdw website and happened upon a description of the campsites and it included 4 levels: partial, full, preferred, and premium. Not sure what the difference between preferred and premium will be though. I will play around there again and see if I can find it again and post the link.

OK, I looked around again and found the place where it was listed, but it is now gone. Maybe they were thinking about it and changed their mind or did not get it worked out in time for the release of the 2008 rates and am delaying adding it. I would like to know what a premium site would be.

Any ideas?

Premium could be 100-400 loops, that are closer to the marina, than the other preferred sites.

OK, just a wish here....but wouldnt it be nice to have some sites that are designed for modern RV/s. Long enough, for toads or tow vehicles. Wide enough for 3-4 slides. Lets not forget a special place to park all those golf carts!

Rhonda, you know full well they'll never supply campsites with peacocks. They smoke, and smoking is prohibited at your site, unless you have a mug from another resort and try to get soda.

Thanks for the info on Dec '08. We are also looking for 1 week 13-20 and have 3 nights in and haven't been able to add on since. I knew they weren't booked, had a feeling on the holding though because I had also been told that by CRO. We were only able to get full though, wanted preferred. You may be right on changing some of the preferred to premiums. Would be nice to offer a cart either free or half price. Will keep calling on the speed dial until I get through.

Generally, references to peacocks, smoking, golf carts, kungaloosh, white castle/krystal, kids driving golf carts, and I'm sure some other things I can't think of right now...they all fall into this category. I called this morning and was able to add on to my existing reservation for Christmas '08. The other day I was only able to get 6 nights, this morning I got the additional 7 (12/20-1/2). This is for a partial though, I had him look at the others, and he said he didn't see any...

So there's hope they are releasing them little by little even...

hooray for you. At least some of us are starting to make headway with the ressies. The rest of us will continue dialing and clicking and waiting, waiting......
