We heard that the rooms at POR now include murphy beds instead of trundles in Alligator Bayou. Are these beds large enough for a small female (5'3")? It would be great if my sister did not have to sleep on an air mattress.
Also any pics would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I've read that the murphy style beds are meant for age 12 and under although I don't know if thats enforced. It's small... not a typical murphy bed. I would be worried about the weight requirement, and also the length of the bed. I haven't seen it in person but it looks small in the pics. Post on the POR FAQ thread to get people's firsthand insight. IMO, I'd bring an air mattress just in case.

All photos I have seen of the murphy beds indicate that they will not be comfortable for someone who is 5'3". Unless they don't mind their feet (and the lower part fo their leg) hanging off the bed. :lmao:

I agree :thumbsup2 Probably not very comfortable for an adult. That being said I am really glad they upgraded from the trundle bed :) NONE of my kids were comfortable on that trundle, but the murphy bed looks like my younger two (ages 9 & 5) could sleep there comfortably! (only one of them at a time of course)

I hope that it's attached to the wall, because it looks like if you rolled forward or sat on the edge, it would tip over.

The mattress on the Murphy bed is detachable (velcro). So if you're concerned about it you can put it on the floor. Check out the POR thread. Lot of people of various heights, weights and ages have found it comfortable.

My daughter slept on ours last Christmas (got one of the BRAND new rooms!) and she is almost as tall as I am (5'4"). She thought it was great, and didn't complain once. It is VERY sturdy, and I think it would be fine for a smallish adult. Much better than an air mattress for sure!! Will try to dig up a photo when I am at my home computer

My DD is 4'8" / 70 pounds and had room to spare.
