I just just reading in a Facebook group, and one of the brokers who can’t be mentioned here is reporting that they received notification from Disney that they are exercising ROFR on three contracts this morning, with additional notifications to come. With the new fiscal year, has the Monster received their allowance?

For full compliance, the unnamed broker is: www.*******.com

Saw that. Should be interesting to see if something has shifted a bit with Disney buying back. 3 contracts doesn't make it a major development - not yet, anyway!

Interesting! We cleared ROFR the last week of September on our first resale contract (and the ROFR review process only took 9 days which seemed very fast).

Few things worth noting:
- September ROFR Recap will be out tomorrow for DVC Resale Market: only one contract taken on the month.
- The broker being referred to by the original poster here typically sells significantly below value.
- That said: Its early to tell how far this extends but I can share we did receive one ROFR this morning on another VGF contract.

Maybe, but the broker being referred to by the OP also hasn't been seeing Disney grabbing contracts recently - and they're really not that much below value than several other brokers..... It seems like a potential change.

Agh! I hope not! I have a bad feeling about the contract I’m waiting to hear back on though. 🙈

Funny, I was negotiating an offer on a very overpriced contract - the one thing I knew was that ROFR would not touch it even at the prices we were fussing over (I finally passed on that one). "I'm Way overpaying" is not a huge emotional improvement over the emotional 14ish day wait on a ROFR. Good news is while it can take time to find/get the right contract, at least ALL you're looking at is the numbers - not like "real" real estate where every property has nuances. ROFR, even when it took "a lot" of contracts, never took them all ;)

Has me worried now! Wondering if anyone has any further information on the ROFR? Seems like VGF has been happening, SSR is new.

It’s too bad that buying/selling DVC points can’t be automated like stocks. Imagine if you could put in a limit order to buy/sell at a certain price and others could see exactly where the bid/ask spread was for various use years and home resorts for every contract.

I’ve never heard of a discount stock broker telling someone that their buy/sell limit order is underpriced… the order either gets filled or it doesn’t as long as the order is open.

Of course, that would drain all of the commission for the middlemen as they would probably have to go flat fee for contract. There is no more work required for a 500 point contract than a 150 point contract….
