New review of Mythos at IOA -- 10 years later

To answer someone's question way back there.....YES - our server mentioned to us Tuesday that they only serve Lunch....I was surprised...but I'm USUALLY There in July - when US/IoA is open until 10p......it was only open till 6p on Tuesday...

This was my 3rd or 4th time at Mythos and I've never had to wait to be seated.

I noticed they took down the sign that said "Voted Best Theme Park Restaurant by...."....so I guess they've lost that distinction.

And yes - Tuesday we were told the Mushroom Brioche was temporarily discontinued.

Although the server said it may come back. I hope so....

They're adding another year to it.

Is that in the middle of summer and at normal times? I'll be there June 14 thru the 19th, and we'd probably eat lunch between 11:30 and 12:00, do you think we'd still only have a 15 minute wait? I'm one of those people who really prefers to make ressies way in advance (like I do when I go to Disney), but I'm not sure what days we will be doing IOA or Studios, so I'm thinking about just winging it this time around!

just go ahead and make the ressie at the kiosk at city walk for mythos.
that way you won't fret of not getting in when you plan to in case others are ahead of you in line.

just because i don't make ressies for mythos doesn't mean that is for everyone

i do those adr's for disney 90 days out.
i hate that.
i like that it is not a necessity to do that at universal.

if you are going to worry about getting seated at mythos on a certain day for a particular time period, do a ressie in advance. some park guests prefer to have a schedule each day.

obliviously, i am not one of them...

Every time I read about Mythos makes me want to add it to our to do list :goodvibes

Huh????

then let this year be the one you try it!!! :goodvibes

to answer the poster that asked if i went in the summer and had no wait for mythos, the answer is yes. June 19 one year.

Mythos is great. It is so reasonable. I can't believe how inexpensive it is. The atmosphere is great. We love to take a nice long lunch break. As you walk into citywalk there is a kiosk on your left....just passed Bubba Gumps...stop by and make your ressie on your way into the park.

Yes, Mythos is great when compared to some of the regular chicken strips and hot dog 'park' fare.

But, I suppose we just had an unlucky experience.

We stopped by the dining kiosk on our way, as mentioned here.... the lady just brushed us off with, 'ohhh there is no wait there right now...' MAKE THEM CALL!!!!! 20 minutes later we had made our way up to Mythos to find a 35 minute wait.... SO, note to self.... Actually make them call and put your name in.

Okay, so we get to Mythos, and explained that the lady at the kiosk did NOT call, and we were suprized to find such a wait..... The hostess had the personality of a brick wall... No "Ohhh, I am sorry.." or "Let me call over there..." Just "You wanna put your name on the list...."

We are seated about 30 minutes later..... Our waiter is very 'rushed' and brusque.... He did not mention the risoto of the day, pasta of the day... Nothing....

My son and I did enjoy our meals, but the my DH did not like his buffalo chicken wrap at all... He is accustomed to ordering chicken wraps... but be advised, that this is heavily breaded chicken that truly is covered in that hot/sour 'buffalo' sauce. Didn't really enjoy that at all.

That's exactly what I'd expect to get if I ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap. :confused3

Buffalo sauce is just that-wet,spicey and very messy!!I like it but its not everybodys cup of tea!!

My thoughts exactly
If you order something that has Buffalo sauce then you can expect it to be very wet and messy and not to mention hot and the reason for the breading is to soak up even more sauce and I don't know why people complain about that it should be expected :headache:
