Does anyone think Disney will build new resorts outside of WDW similar to HHI or VB? More laid back places? :confused3

I always thought of HHI as laid back. The exact opposite would be Myrtle Beach (a perfect stop-over for those up north). I'm putting my money there, think it would be easy to take an existing resort & do a disney style rehab.

rumor - Hawaii and/or Colorado.

some people want one in California.

I just want the Cont......

you could try OKW - it is very laid back!

I would love Hawaii and California, but like Pat, I mostly want the Contemporary! ::yes::

I would LOVE Colorado! Right now, all the DVC resort locations get very hot in the summer. But I think I'm in the minority in wanting a more northern DVC. But I hope your rumor's true.

Have they ever sold-out HH or VB?

You and me, SM! :cheer2:
I would love the availability of skiing, and as my Colorado friends constantly remind me, "Winters are wonderful, but Summer is why we live here!"

I hate it when someone chimes in with actual facts...but bicker IS right...

I think DVC has learned their lesson, and I think all future development -- for a number of years -- will be at WDW.

I'll just sit back and wait.

I think the only real possibility in the near future is Disneyland. I can't see them building in Hawaii or Colorado, without a park to draw buyers. The question is not would you like to see a DVC elsewhere to stay there, the question is would you buy points there. I can't see them getting the rapid sales that they have at WDW in non-park locations.

I doubt DVC will build anything else outside the Disney confines. They proven to themselves that they are not willing to do what it takes to sell a timeshare on it's own merits to someone who may not want to buy a timeshare. Plus running a resort long distance is quite a pain. Hopefully they can work out something at or very near DL.
