I have been looking at buying in at BLT. Price is $112/ pt - $5 promo discount. My son is a cast member in the college program. Because of this I get 15% taken off of the total. This is a good amount obviously and we are considering buying more points (360) initially rather than later. Any concerns?

The only other incentive offered is matched developer points until Oct.

Does anyone know of any other discounts / incentives now or coming up in the near future.

I had already indicated we had no referral before I knew of that incentive.

Any suggestions would help!

the general advice is to break larger purchases up into smaller contracts: 160+50+50+50+50, for example. this makes it easier if you decide you need fewer pts in the future or you want to break up the contracts to give them or will them to your heirs.

OTOH, the cast member discount usually comes with restrictions on reselling anyway, but i don't know the details...might make a difference or it might not.

We recently purchased at BLT with a family member being a disney employee and received a 20% discount, $5 off per point and matching developer points. We were told the 20% would change back to 15% on January 15 and the matching developer points would dissappear also.
If you choose to sell your contract in the future, you must tell Disney first and they will either buy it back for what you paid or allow you to sell it on your own. Also, you have to sign papers stating you will not rent out the points. The points are for you and family members only. It states that failure to obey these rules can result in the dismissal of the Disney employee. It seems fair as they do not want you to compete with them in renting out rooms especially when you received a discount. Good luck!

I'm not sure why you are offered 20% and I am offered 15%. Is your family member a full time / permanent cast member?

My son is cast member via the Disney college program and is at Disney just during this semester.

just have to re-iterate what someone else mentioned. Probably want to break up the large number of points 360, into smaller more potentially easier to sell at a later time. like 100, 100, 100 60, or even 150, 150 and 60.

The smaller contracts seem to sell and move faster.
