New Program for me

Today I officially start WW. I have been doing Atkins since May 20th. I had a lot of success with it, but I fell off the wagon and tried several times to get back on. No luck.

I feel like I can do WW for life. I don't know if I'll lose as much or as fast, but I only have 15 pounds left to go. I honestly don't care how long it takes as long as those last 15 pounds come off eventually.

Another change I'm making is that I'm only weighing in weekly. I usually weigh in daily. That is going to be hard on me.

So wish me luck and send me PD.

Good luck, half the battle is finding a program that you can live with for life. 15 lbs to go!! You are doing so terrific.

Keep up the great work, and good luck with WW's. I love it.

Weight Watchers as been succesful for MANY people --- and I'm sure you will be one of them soon.:D After doing so terrific on Atkins --- I'm sure you will use some of what you've learned and apply it to your WW way of eating too. YOU will have double the knowledge!

Good for you! I'm proud of you for reconsidering your plan, the right plan makes all of the difference in the world.

WW is a terrific healthy eating plan. I'll go change the roster.

Sending PD your way! I know that you'll get through those last 15 like a warm knife through butter! Way to go!

Keep the Faith!

I just started WW a week ago, unfortunately I haven't lost any weight yet so I was getting a little discouraged until I checked out their message boards.

Seems that the less you weigh (and probably the older you are) the slower you MAY lose so don't get discouraged. I'm sticking to it! (I was on WW in my 20s and lost 5 lbs in a week so that's why I was getting a little frustrated)..but I know WW is a more realistic way of eating. The low carb diets are pretty tough to stick to for life especially when you start putting carbs back into your diet. I found they're not for me at all as I got sick on a low carb diet.

I wish you lots of luck! Even with no weight loss for me yet I still believe this is the most realistic way of losing weight and maintaining it.

Make sure to check out WW's message boards, lots of good info!

PAdisMOM,
I'm in the same boat! I had been on Atkins, but I'm also having a hard time sticking to it. I loved the initial quick results I saw, but keep going thru an on again/off again cycle. I think finding the correct plan is half the battle, and what works wonderfully for one might not be great for another. Like you said, I think it is important to find a plan that becomes a lifestyle. I don't know that Atkins is that plan for me. I am seriously thinking about switching to WW.
Good luck, and keep us posted on how you're doing!

I choose Weight Watchers because it is a plan I feel I can do for life. Good luck with the change - here's hoping those final 15 lbs. come off soon!
