Sums up all thats wrong with Disney. Sleeping Beauty doesn't even try to sing like the original which I know is a tough act to follow. Jasmine is also completely different which I don't get. Would it have cost that much more to have the orginal Jaz do the voice?

Kids are just not that stupid. My 4yo, (yes I know many of you don't value an opinion of a 4yo but FWIW) was dumbfounded that they sound so different. Basically the coversation went "That not Sleeping Beauty! She sounds bad!" Her older sisters tried to BS some "she's got a cold story" but she's not buying it you could see the wheels in her head start to spin. She could justify they sound different in person but not from video to video.. I pretty much saw the illusion(disillusion) of princesses being real leave her. i hope Santa isn't next.

Now does it really sum up all that is wrong. I don;t think so. Jasmine sounds like the Jasmine in the cartoons on Disney Channel & Sleeping Beauty, well the original voice is probably dead by now. So they needed to coem up with another voice. Plus the Jasmine voice is the same in all the other Princess videos that are in that series.

I have to agree with the orge from Jersey. I think this is really really nitpicking. You want to be upset that Cinderella 3 was awful or Disney's just cloning rides at this point. Fine. But not being able to copy Sleeping Beauty's 1960s voice?

It is important - characters are characters, they're not supposed to just change. Children certainly seem then as "real" and don't understand the concept of the voice actors behind the scene.

Come on - they've managed to keep Mickey sounding like Mickey for seventy five years and now they can't even be bothered?

Once again - Disney is just lazy and uncarrying about the details. That attitude works its way through everything they do now, and up to the big projects as well.

It's not nitpicking. Its paying attention to the details. In a rush to sell more princess crap they ruin the "magic" for a 4yo, their auudience. Disney was all about the details and that what made it special.

they didn't ruin the magic, my 4 year old watches Alladin the MOvie, and Alladin the cartoon. Jasmine form the movie is different but Jasmine from the CArtoon is the same. Sleeping Beauty is what 60 years old, tell your kid that the voice sounds different because everyone after 60 years sounds different.

If the cartoon voices ruin the magic, then what a bout the princesses in the parks. Every single one of those princess sounds different and they look different then the cartoon. Man how do you explain that to your 4 year old

I'm with you Mr. Voice (and DorB), Mickey is relatievely the same but this they can't (or won't do)???:confused3

Some kids may be OK with this but certainly some WILL NOT...Why should there even be the chance? Disney is capable of taking lots of dollars from our wallets in any manner of creative and imaginative manipulation but in the 21st Century they can't give representative voice characterizations? Worse is that some find this OK.:confused3
