New POTC for kids?

I just read Brina's trip report on the new POTC. Has the scare factor significantly increased? My DDs (6 & 4) rode the one at WDW last September. It was not there favourite, but they made it through once somewhat unscathed (looking like this ). I would definitely want to try this new DL version when we go next March. Will this version push them over the edge ? There not exactly scare-ride-junkies.

They have added some characters, but over all, I don't think the ride has changed much. I have not ridden it yet in either location (ours doesn't open back up until 7/1 I believe). If your children weren't crazy about it a few months ago, I would skip it or do the swap.

We rode it yesterday. My 2 year old loved it just as much as everyone else. She loves to sing the pirate song.

no change in the scare factor.
Maybe less scary if they saw the movie. Though they sound a bit young for it.
