New Poll: Coronado Springs vs. AKL

Hey all,

My first choice of resorts for our trip between May 28-June 4 was Wilderness Lodge. Unfortunately this resort was full already for the codes I have. I am now trying to decide between a standard view room at CS vs. a standard parking lot view room at AKL (these are what are available)

A few things to take into account. We are a couple in our late 20s. We realize it will be a busy time since part of our trip is during Memorial Day. Which resort is more couples / romantic oriented? Which hotel will have less kids running around or will that not be a problem with either? Which hotel is better equipped to handle busy times? Which would you chose? The total price difference with tax included is about $230 dollars (approx. $1085 vs. $854). I guess the $230 is significant since this money could be spent on a nice dinner or tickets to Cirque Du Soleil.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Kermit

Kermit, my boy, this is Disney World--where ever you go you WILL find kids!

This is a tough call--we've stayed at them both, and they both have their romantic points. There is a better choice of restaurants at AKL, but the food court at CSR is way better. Rooms are bigger and a little fancier at AKL, and you have balconies, which you don't have at CSR. I like the theming and grounds better at CSR.

I probably would pick AKL. but not by much. If budget is an issue, I wouldn't hesitate to go the other route and blow the $230 on a great dinner.

Hey Kermie;

I've stayed at both, and there are kids at both. :)

I found AKL to be more relaxing. I love animals as well, so watching is relaxing to me.

Coronado is more spread out and is nice to walk around. That was nice too.

Balconies at AKL are nice because you can be outside and still be private.

I would take AKL over Coronado.

As much as this pains to say, I gotta say AKL if your getting a savannah view room. Otherwise I still say CSR. Check out my CSR website below.

I would pick AKL. I like the theming, the pool and the restuarants, including Mara, the food court area. The lobby is gorgeous. It just feels more deluxe/romantic/relaxing than CSR.

They'll have equal amounts of kids probably, BUT Animal Kingdom Lodge is MUCH more romantic and there will indeed probably be more honeymooners there. But that doesn't mean there will be any less kids, if that makes any sense.

Jiko (AKL's nicest restaurant) is VERY romantic, and Boma is as well (in a buffet kind of way lol)...

The views of the lodge's lobby at night are breathtaking.
