Just what the title says:

Historically, up to now, what is your "typical" DVC stay, in NIGHTS (not days) per trip.

I'm going to allow more than one choice on this, since I want to account for split stays, or different lengths for different trips (say one 3 day trip and one 10 day trip...or a 6 night split stay of 4 and 2 nights).

If anyone can point out why I SHOULD'T allow multiple choices, I'll delete this one and recreate allowing only one choice.

6 nights has been our average stay but open to other options as well depending on time of year and what we want to get out of the trip.

Our most frequent stay using DVC resorts is 7 nights in one place (1BR, BWV, Sat-Sat). Lately we've been mixing it up a bit staying either 6-10 nights in one place and 2 nights in another. We purchased our first DVC points in 2004 and mix'n'match stays using points and inbound exchanges through II.
  • Jan 2004: 7 nights BWV via II exchange, Saturday check-in
  • Aug 2004: 2 nights VB using our brand new DVC points
  • Jan 2005: 7 nights BWV via II exchange (booked before we purchased our DVC points), Saturday check-in
  • Jan 2006: 7 nights BWV booked on points for us ... and two additional units booked via exchange for friends over the same 7 nights, each were Saturday check-in
  • Jan 2007: 6 nights BWV on points + 2 nights OKW on points, Saturday check-in
  • Jan 2008: 3 nights BWV on points + 7 night exchange into BWV (same room) + 2 nights AKV on points; Wednesday check-in
  • April 2008: 6 nights SSR on points, Saturday check-in, rented to friends
  • May 2008: 3 nights GC Hotel on points; Friday check-in
  • Jan 2009: 10 nights BWV on points, Thursday check-in
FWIW, our 1996-2003 January visits, prior to DVC, were typically 6 nights at the Dolphin (1x), Yacht (4x) and Beach Club (3x) hotels each with a Saturday arrival -- but these stays were paid by our employer. We also had one 7 night stay at the Dolphin in March 1996 with Friday arrival.

Key:
[Green] Work related visits.
[Dark Orchid] Vacation visits.
[Red] Reservations rented to others

Food and Wine is always 8.

Our other trips range in time from 4 to 7 days based on time of year.

Our stays range from 11-14 nights (usually sat-sat (14 nights) or sun-fri (12 nights)) so I voted more than 10.

We don't like changing rooms so we will stay through the weekends with our points.

We have done a split stay once in a while if we can't get the rooms we want but we still stay on the weekends using our points.

In 2 trips/year: 8 nights in the Spring, 8-11 nights in the Fall or Christmas.

We normally just stay 5-6 nights. Although this year we are doing two trips, so it will be 10 nights total.

12 nights DVC (Sunday - Friday) in June (plus one night offsite)
5-6 nights in July (Sunday-Fri/Sat plus two offsite)
5 nights in April (Sunday - Friday)
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I've always booked the last day of the reservation for the whole trip - so I don't see the new rule as having much impact. We don't do holidays or F&W.

Most of our DVC trips are a week long give or take a day...

I only voted 7 nights, didnt realize there was a vote for more option... but most of our trips are 7 nights, some longer, but hardly ever shorter

Two trip per year: 5-6 nights in the Spring and 8-10 nights in the Fall/Christmas.:santa:

We stay 5 nights at 1 resort with a Sunday check in

We have been doing 8-9 nights stays in September , 5 night split stays in Dec (5 onsite, 2 offsite, 4-5 onsite). In the spring we do anywhere from 1 -5 nights so there really is no "typical" number. I voted 5 and 9 as those have been the most common the last few years.

I voted for 5 but I do stay more sometimes but they are split by a weekend.

I voted for 8 nights.

Our original reservations are always for 8 nights but our plans sometimes call for adding or dropping a day if we get a better price for airfare.

We usually arrive on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
