new points chart

Do you mean you're nervous that DVC won't be open in 2010? :teeth:

thanks for joke!!!:lmao:

no worry that DVC might finally be adjusting the points....

since they generally put out the next year at the same time.

don't have several thousand points - like some of you.

only have a few hundred (very, very few)

I expect the 2010 point charts to be published very soon - it's usually been in late October/early November in the past. In this case, I think the recent changes to the 2009 charts were made only to upgrade the THV category at SSR and BLT - since both are opening in 2009.

I expect that the 2010 charts will be out soon as in the past ... and I don't really expect to see any changes in the point charts except for the usual changes to the Thanksgiving and Easter seasons.

Nothing to be nervous about, Pat! :)

I was under the impression that DVC could not raise the # of points needed for their DVC properties. When a new one opens they can set the points for that resort at what they want but does it not stay that way till your contract expires ?

They can never alter the total number of points needed for the year at a given resort, but they are free to change the number of points needed for a given night or season or view, so long as they change a different night or season or view to even it out.

So, for example, they could increase the number of points needed to stay in a standard view studio in December, but they'd have to lower points somewhere else on the chart to compensate.

DVC has done a reallocation of points only once - in 1996 for OKW - and at that time they raised some nights by a few points and lowered other points by a few nights and made no changes to many nights.

Since 1996 there have been NO CHANGES to any point charts at ANY other resort. I don't expect any changes to ANY point charts at ANY resort for 2010 (or at other year in the near future).

Stay Tuned! :)

Not nervous ... but looking forward to seeing the points for Grand Californian Villas! :)
