New Owner - General Question Resort Swapping

Is resort reservation swapping a thing? For example, I own at Polynesian, but I want to stay at CCV or BCV. If I find someone i trust on the boards who owns at one of these locations and they want a similar stay @ Poly, can we swap reservations?

You can't actually swap the reservations. What you agree to do is book a trip for each other on your own membership in lieu of payment. It is basically a two way rental. The problem is the trust factor because in these cases, one owner goes first and the other owner has to hope that their reservation doesn't end up canceled after the first trip occurs.

That is why most owners either transfer in points from another owner at a home resort they want (which now allows you to book your own trip) or rent out their points and then rent from another owner.

But you can only transfer in or out once per UY per membership. So unless you both have two memberships, you wouldn't be able to transfer to each other during the same time.

Or, you could just book at one of those locations if there is availability!
