new neighbors just closed on house but 1st they are going to Disney World!

This reminded me soooo much of a fellow DISer.
Our new neighbors closed on their house today. But before they move in they have to go to Disney World!!!

When we were closing on this house 8.5 yrs ago, the bank found out I had quit my fulltime job. They gave us the loan based on my retirement.

Apparently they have the money to do both, or they wouldn't be going. More power to them!!!!!!!

We moved into this house on November 30...I had a WDW trip planned from December 1-7! I cancelled the trip. There was no way I could move in one day, then leave for a week to go anywhere.

LOL! Actually my mom brought up cancelling the trip...not because of money we have saved for Disney but because she thought it would buy a nice living room suite...LOL! Nope we HAVE to go to Disney to buy decorations for the house!!!!!


Luckily our date of possession on the house isn't until either September 30 or October 1st and our Disney trip is September 5-15 so we have all this month to pack and then half of September. I wouldn't go either if we had to move that week.

I was supposed to close of my house (both sale and purchase).... WHILE I was in Disney World last year. The trip had been previously planned, and we had friends going too. The night before I left... mostly packed to move, we found out that my buyer's agent and mortgage company were crooks. Sale fell through, house was re-listed and sold while in the world. You haven't lived until you've used both MGM and Epcots service centers to fax 20 pages of documents....

I'm sort of doing the same thing! We're supposed to take possession of our new house on November 22nd. I'm in WDW 11/14 - 11/23! (DH will be here moving us in!)

I can only WISH that will happen to us! We go to WDW January 7, but I doubt our new house will be done by then. We are aiming for March 31.

Sounds like you already have something in common with your new neighbors. What a great foundation. I hope to sell our house next year, and buy a new, but smaller one. I doubt I'll be going to WDW at the same time. No plans to go after January. I'm not a rich as Beauty, you know !

LOL! You guys crack me up....you know I bought out the Grey Poupon company yesterday and the Yankee Candle Company too and I'm almost convinced to buy all my friends new Lincoln Navigators.

I just this week realized that I am booked for Disney the week of December 1 and the scheduled completion date on my house is December 15. (And I have not yet sold the current house!) I am not sure about this. It is not the trip, it is taking more time off to move right after I get back from Disney. Oh Dear!
