New MYW passes from air miles upgradable

I know last year we were able to take and upgrade our 7 day Air Miles PHP to AP. Now that they have changed the tickets has anyone redeemed them and tried to upgrade them yet. I really can't see why it won't work, when it did with the previous 7 Day PHP.

Any thoughts???

I am planning to upgrade the 7 day "base" MYW passes that I received from Air Miles to add the hopper option.

We're going this week and I'll let you know how I made out after we get back. (I'm pretty sure we'll be able to do it. I'm just hoping that we can do it at the Poly or the TTC rather than having to go to Guest Services at the parks.)

I'll tell you right now, you need to do this at Guest Services at the Parks. That's they only way we could last August.

Since you will be at the parks, there is no inconvenience if you cannot upgrade the ticket until you get to the parks. Meanwhile what Guest Services at the resort can do may be improved over time.

You can even procrastinate until the time you have hopped and are about to enter the second park that day.

I think the rule is you have six (13?) days after first usage to add features to your pass.

We did this in February and it took AGES!!!!! (Or at least it seemed that way because we wanted to get in the park!) I was going to try to upgrade them in the park, but DH said we should "get it out of the way" so we upgraded them at the turnstiles before you get on the transportation to MK. The lady was pretty confused because when she scanned our tickets "we had not bought them through Disney" so the computer said to charge us $110 for the upgrade. I said: "No way, it says right here the upgrade should be $55." So, she had to call her supervisor and they had to go through some silly hoops, but we did upgrade our tickets (for $55 plus tax) and ran into the park. It did take about 40 minutes to do this... which seemed like way too long for something that should have been routine. The lady was pretty nice about it and gave the kids lots of stickers because of their wait!

A pleasant surprise during our recent visit was that we were able to upgrade the base 7-day MYW passes we received from Air Miles to passes with hopping privileges at the guest services counter at the Poly. They were also put the upgraded passes onto our room keys for us. It took a little bit of work but they were able to do it (and I didn't have to try to convince them that they should be able to do it for me). So, our admissions were all set for when we first went into the parks the next morning.
