I love them! They look so fantastic! And my DS just wants to ride them over and over again! But then again, me too!
They are sooooo much better than WDW! OURS ROCK!!!!!:cool1:

They sure are prettier than the WDW ones, but the WDW ones have a couple things over these new ones..... air-conditioning and they can run when it's over 82 degrees out.

The WDW ones can take strollers better, too. You don't have to fold them up in order to ride.

We keep wanting to ride the new ones, but they are never on line when we are there, due to the heat. Hopefully, with the new change in temps, they will be operating more.

We got to ride the new Mark VII a couple of times this weekend. It sure is cool! (that is what DS12 said!)

The weather at DL was so beautiful yesterday. The sun was out but there was a cool crispness to the air. Both of the new monorails were running, the blue and red. Of course the line in tomorrowland was huge. It went all the way down to the Nemo subs.
I'll just go ride it next week cuz my DS was bummed that we didn't yesterday.

We were just there and rode the monorail but I can't remember which one. What's different about the new ones? They look cool, but is something different inside or with the ride or something? I'm guessing we didn't ride a new one since it was very hot and I definately didn't like not having air conditioning!

The new ones do not have air-conditioning either. They also cannot put the new ones on the track if the outside temperature is about 82 degrees. Part of this is due to the way the windows are designed to open. The new monorails windows crack open from the bottom - and not very far. The old monorail windows are designed like a sliding door.

If it was hot - you probably rode the old one.

Also, the seating configuration is different. You actually face toward the windows in a lot of the seats. The old model had standard forward or rear facing benches.

I rode in "red" when I was there the first week of September. It is true that they arrived without a/c. However, the nose and tail are air conditioned. The sitting configuration is totally different. The older monorails have rows of seats facing forward and backward. The new monorails have a seating configuration much like the Jungle Cruise, with seats around the perimeter and a island seat in the middle. I rode during the day and cannot wait for my trip this next weekend. I am planning on riding it at night this time as the lighting effects inside look awesome. :tink: I almost forgot to say that air scoops have been added to the roof's to allow ventilation when the monorail is moving.

We rode in the nose of the new "Red" monorail a couple of weeks ago and we're told they would be changing the windows to the older style that slide down instead of pop out at the bottom. Then they can be used in all temps.

We rode the red Mark VII on Sunday and I thought it was awesome. I haven't rode the Monorail since I was a kid and being in the sleek new one was pretty cool. It was a little stuffy in there, so I can totally see why they don't ride when it's too hot.

I hope I'll get to ride the red one :woohoo: when I go in the Spring...gosh, I cannot remember the last time I went on the Monorail!!! :confused3 For some reason when we go, we just don't go on it, :sad2: but I'd like to next time. :cool1:

My avatar is the blue one. I saw it for the first time on Saturday.
I don't know how to post pics. I'm a dork!;)

Oooh well they certainly look very innovative!

I dont think I have ever been inside a Disneyland Monorail, I have at WDW but I dont think I ever have at DLR

If i remember right they were made here in vancouver..... so that could be the problem we never get really hot here and get lots of rain.... they would probley work great here :rotfl:

I heard they are very cool with the lighting. But isnt that just at night? What makes them different during the day, i mean OTHER than the new seating? Isnt it the same ol' same ol' without the night lights turned on? That SUCKS that it cant run when over 82 degrees, who designed that? My personal opinion is that they wont last long unless that is fixed. California heat BAYBAY!

OOOOOOHHHH! I just read that they are going to add an orange one!!!!!!!! Thatll be the best so far! Could you imagine a neon orange monarail zipping through disneyland! That Will be the BEASTTTTTTTT! CANT WAIT!
