Hi again,
As we posted previously we are new members at SSR. We would like to go to Disney with some friends that are traveling the end on May. I contacted Member services and asked when we could make ressies. They said we could do it starting Dec.1 for SSR or within the 7 month window for other resorts. Now my questions and concerns.

1)Does the 7 month window start from the begining of the stay?

2)They indicated that my stay would be contingent on completion of SSR. What happens if I buy airline tickets make all my plans and then the resort gets delayed, will they not allow me to stay?

Thanks :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

My understanding is that you can't start until 1 December, even if it's less than 7 months. The 7 month is from the end of your stay, not the beginning. From what I've heard, if the resort is delayed past your reservation date, you will be cancelled. You should call your guide and discuss with them.

As Dean indicated, the 7 month window is based on the check out date.

The cuurent plan is that SSR will have only one building open in May. Another will open each month after thru August. If you are planning a trip in late May, I'm sure one builing will be available , but there are only 46 villas in each building. (About 20 more if you count lock-off studios and 1BRs.)

If you are planning a stay at another DVC resort, you can't make a reservation for a date earlier than SSR will open. The plan is to open by May 1, 2004, but if there is a delay, I suppose they could cancel a reservation at another resort until your resort is availbale to others. My understanding is that as of a few weeks ago, SSR was ahead of schedule.

I would ask your guide for clarification.

This may sound stupid but when you say my guide you mean the person with whom I made my purchase , correct? I have tried to call him on a few occasions but he is not great at returning calls now that I have purchased. Unless I reach him in the office he does not call me back. With that said what I would like to do is go down May 23, 2004 and check out May 28th and stay at either Boardwalk or the Beach Club. We want to go with friends who are using someone elses points that own at Boardwalk. I would really have liked to stay at Saratoga but when they first open I don't think we could get a room. Also we would be pretty far from our friends and they have never been to Disney.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jester:

Yes, your guide is the person you bought from. If that person is not there, you will be assigned another. If you have multiple attempts at contact and they don't call you back, call and talk to a supervisor. If the problem persists, ask to be changed.

I'm not sure why you think you could get a room at SSR. As a SSR owner you will have a better chance to get a room there than most everyone (except other SSR )owners. You can simply call on December 1 and make the reservation. Non owners must wait until February 4, 2004 to reserve at SSR.

Just because we will not be the only people who want to stay and they will have limited accomodations when we want to go.
I would love to be one of the first to stay. We will give it a try and see what happens, but we will make a back up reservation just in case.

My big problem is if they don't have the resort complete (it gets pushed back) and they cancel my reservations; we will already have airline tickets. Has anyone one ever encountered this and if so what happened?

Could you make a reservation at the Boardwalk Inn just in case SSR is not done? I realize that you would want to use your points for the trip, but this would allow you to have a place to stay just in case. I can see how this is a sticky situation and hopefully someone will offer a better solution. :Pinkbounc
