I have spent the past few evenings reading nearly every post on this thread - WOW!!! Lots of good valuable info and a BIG thanks Safetymom for all of your helpful knowledge.

Actually, I have been reading many of these threads off and on for several months which helped me make my decision to book the Carribean Beach for our upcoming trip. Unfortunately, I didn't see the info about the 'water view' and booked & paid for that part already - so I have added the 'preferred building' to our reservation request and will hope for that first.

One question I have (which is I haven't seen any info posted about yet) is rather the resort will allow a microwave in the room? I have reserved a refrig and microwave from a company called "A Baby's Best Friend". Their prices are unreal and they pickup and deliver to the resorts. They didn't seem to think there would be any problem. Any thoughts?

Next question, the morning after our arrival I have a PS at Chef Mickey's for 930am. From what I have read on this thread it is best to drive our rental to Epcot and take the Monorail to TCC and transfer to the MK/Resort Monorail? Or should we take the bus to MK and then the monorail? Which will take the least amount of time? I'm so afraid that if we have a long wait for the bus we'll miss our PS or that it might take to long to drive to Epcot and do the monorail transfer?

My daughter is going to celebrate her 8th birthday at MK while we are there and I so want everything to run smoothly.

Thanks a bunch!!

I can't respond on the microwave. However, over on the budget board there is a thread where someone wrote Disney and they said "no cooking in the room" I have no idea if that applies to microwaves. (That said, I am always leary of places with "unreal" prices)

For your Chef Mickey's reservation, why don't you just drive there and move the car after breakfast? My other suggestion would be to take the bus from your resort to MK and walk to Chef Mickey's (it is a short walk)

Don't know about the microwave, but yes, the easiest thing for you to do for the breakfast is drive over to the Contemporary and park in thier lot. They'll let you do that if you're going to a meal there. You could leave at 9:00 and get there in time, but if it's your first time driving around the place, you might want to leave just a little early. All you've got to do is follow the signs for the Magic Kingdom resorts and then the Contemporary.

The best way to handle how to get to Chef Mickey's might depend on what you plan on doing afterwards. I'd drive to the Contemporary only if I wasn't planning on going right to a park afterwards. When you get to the Contemporary the guard will give you a temporary parking pass (usually 3 hours).

If your plans involve going to a park immediately afterwards, I'd take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then take the monorail (or walk) to Contemporary. After breakfast, you can take the bus from the Contemporary to any of the other parks, then when you want to leave the park, just take the CBR bus.

Thank you for all your suggestions - it sounds like the bus to the MK or driving to the Contemporary and moving our car later. I'm thinking we will spend the afternoon at MK. We will either do that or take the bus to MK and then the Monorail.

Thanks for all your advice!

Can't believe how close we are getting to actually be there!!
:D
