New McKim's Mile House and ImaginAtrium Member Lounge >> NOW OPEN! 3/18/25 <<

I'm glad to hear someone else express this, as it was literally my thought. We aren't DVC-Y, yet, but this may be the tipping point to us buying direct. My family are MK people and this could do it.
It's actually having the opposite effect on me, pushing me towards more resale instead of direct. I don't like that they are ripping out a classic attraction (that my family likes...we just went there on our December 2022 trip). Maybe they can move the shooting gallery over to Ft. Wilderness and give the cabins another activity that goes with the original Frontierland theme of Ft. W

I am sad that something to keep people in the area busy will now be a lounge, but the shooting arcade was also behind a pay wall as well to my knowledge, at least the one is DLR is. With DVC presence being expanded every year, they need more spaces for them in the parks

It used to be behind a paywall ($1?) but it's been free for the last few years. Still not particularly busy, though.

Can't wait to see how they theme this. I'm worried it will always be a waitlist to get in, though. Frontierland (and MK in general) is way busier than the Imagination area of Epcot. This is going to be extremely popular.

I’ve been travelling across the pond to visit WDW all my life, some 44 years, I’ve never once used the shooting arcade but I’ll be in that lounge on my first day in MK after opening.
Yes, same…well not 44 years, I’m only 33 lol but it’s never something that we ever even glance at and even when I do it is almost always empty. It’s a shame, but these games are from a bygone era that are incredibly under utilized, even when it’s free like a previous poster mentioned.

If it ends up being even a small motivating factor for potential buyers (think people walking around magic kingdom, sitting waiting for the parade to start, shown into a member exclusive space with snacks, seating and AC in the middle of the park? Yeaaaah that’s definitely nice), I hope DVC will realize that opening these spaces truly do incentivize owners to buy direct.

I am curious how they are going to fit a lounge in there - especially given the huge crowds at MK. I wonder if there will be more restrictions on entry than at EPCOT - maybe longer hours would also help with that.
Seems there are often the same folks sitting when we enter & leave. I’ve commented to staff, told there is no official time limit on lounging in the lounge other than closing time. Perhaps if they did institute one @ Epcot (30 min to an hour) the often lengthy return times would cease and more would have an opportunity to catch a breather & a cold drink.

Tongue in cheek…

Maybe they will manage to keep the arcade intact in some fashion for DVC members, perhaps bumping out the building in the front to enclose it.
Virtual queue of course!
Nope, not another reason to wake up before 7 am on vacation lol

I assume this was a joke—but I would strongly prefer a walk-up waitlist (or VQ that you can enter once you enter the park) to the current system at Epcot where you have to drag yourself all the way to the imagination pavilion to find out how long the wait will be once you put your name in.

No reason they couldn’t at least offer a walk up list like how they do for dining in the app already… That would be really nice, especially for families with kids.

Exactly—they already have the IT tool built. My recent experience was: walking from Spaceship Earth to the Lounge hoping to rest for 30m before our GOTG VQ was called, being told it was a 50m wait, having our VQ called almost immediately after as we were walking back to connections cafe, getting in the line, and then getting a callback at the lounge at about 20m into our “50m wait”— so frustrating. I know they can’t control turnover, but at least walk up wait list would give you a sense of current wait time and updated estimated wait time and eliminate an unnecessary walk.

lol but actually how big is 2500-2600 sqft? I’m not sure how much space that is. Does anyone know how big the Epcot lounge is to maybe compare?
I think it's going to be bigger than that. It was Scott Gustin's guess based on "aerial views." What exactly was he counting in his estimate? Was he including the bazaar behind the shooting arcade, a bump out in the front, some of the shops to the side? I tend to agree with previous posters - that the lounge will be bigger than the existing footprint of the shooting arcade. Possibly even two levels, doubling the amount of available space.

Making it an easy VQ on an app will only make the actual waitlist exponentially longer, though. As soon as you get rid of an inconvenience such as having to walk to the actual attraction, you get way more people trying to join.

I'd rather you have to be in Frontierland to join.

Our experience at Epcot has only ever been to walk right up. I realize at busy times of day it's a wait. However, would a VQ necessitate that walk-ups never happen because it would force you to have to join a list online every time? I would hate that. You can't always plan when you might want to sit down somewhere cool and relax.

Ran into “new” lounge earlier this week, happy to have a place to duck out of pop up storm. It’s literally half of the space, closest to front of park.

Served the purpose well enough for us. Walk up to table to grab a drink (sodas, water) & choice of a snack (lay’s chips or cookies-Oreos).

Was surprised the woman just read magic band when I went to pull out my apple wallet.
