New McKim's Mile House and ImaginAtrium Member Lounge >> NOW OPEN! 3/18/25 <<

With the reports of demo'ing the NBA experience, anyone think the DVC lounge could go there?
It's far more space than they would need. And I don't really see what the draw would be for members to venture over. A lot of the justification for going to Disney Springs in the first place is to dine. I can't see many people enjoying dinner at DS, only to later walk to a DVC lounge for soda and a bag of Cheeze-Its.

Would be great if true.

Updating...If WDWMAGIC is posting about it then I tend to believe it's much more likely. Which is great news.

The shootin' arcade is such a small space. Looking at the surrounding buildings, will they also close down and use the Frontierland Trading Post gift shop and Agraba Bazaar for this space?

I am curious how they are going to fit a lounge in there - especially given the huge crowds at MK. I wonder if there will be more restrictions on entry than at EPCOT - maybe longer hours would also help with that.

Other than the sunglass store there's nothing else in this space. But it does seem smaller than Epcots.

At this point the lounge is as close to certain as is possible. Waiting for Disney to make it official.

I don't know if any of the other buildings are affected. I can ask around.

Frontierland's days are numbered I would say...at least as we know it now...
Given that they are currently renovating Country Bear Jamboree, and are reportedly theming the new lounge to Frontierland, I don't think they will wipe it off the map.

The total thematic incongruity of Tiana in Frontierland is a problem, but I'm not sure that Disney really cares anymore. If they do, I would expect them to shrink Frontierland (have it end at Pecos Bill's, basically), use the Tortuga Tavern project to bridge Tiana over to Caribbean Plaza as a sort of poor-man's New Orleans Square (New Orleans Sliver?), and then fold Big Thunder into whatever 'Behind Big Thunder' project they come up with.

But who knows. They really aren't in the "theme park" business anymore, so it probably doesn't matter that it makes no sense. They're just brand parks now.

(To be fair, Splash Mountain also didn't really fit in the desert southwest between Big Thunder and Pecos Bill, but at least they made a visual effort to blend in.)

It seems likely they'd have to use more of the surrounding spaces than just the shooting arcade - maybe the store next to it and the bits of the Bazaar and seating areas bordering Adventureland. They also could technically stretch the building out more since the arcade is quite recessed. I like the location in general - there are restrooms very close so they wouldn't need to incorporate them into the lounge (I don't mind if I need to leave the lounge for restrooms - but the ones at Epcot are so far away from the lounge that they're a bit inconvenient).

Silly as it may be and if I didn’t already have DVCY, a lounge in MK might be the thing that would have pushed me to buy direct. I think it’ll be really popular there, even if it is very basic in effect and size. I don’t always find myself near the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot so we don’t do the lounge all that often there but we almost always find our way to frontierland for some ride or another, also love watching the parade from over there. I’m really looking forward to this addition!

I think the days are numbered for land specific attractions in general. As long as you can losely associate
the attraction to a land it's close enough and this is not specific to Disney. Die hard disney fans can't stand it but, I could care less.

I would rather a attraction that losely fits than a ride that's 30 years old that and gets a fresh coat of paint.

I'm glad to hear someone else express this, as it was literally my thought. We aren't DVC-Y, yet, but this may be the tipping point to us buying direct. My family are MK people and this could do it.

BTW - the temp DVC lounge in Epcot over in Odyssey was an acceptable replacement - though they didn't have Freestyle machines - they were offering cans of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, or bottles of water, plus a few chips options. I prefer the fountain machines because that offers juice and tea options too...would be nice to see them use the entire Odyssey for the DVC lounge as it has restrooms and could even offer paid food options and adult beverages...that space only gets used part time throughout the year during the festivals.

I’ve been travelling across the pond to visit WDW all my life, some 44 years, I’ve never once used the shooting arcade but I’ll be in that lounge on my first day in MK after opening.

I wonder if they could also build up and add a floor there?

Thank you for the update. My kids love the freestyle machine so I wish they had brought that. First world ;). We are lucky to get any perk!
