I remember hearing somewhere that they are removing the snowglobes from the floats 1 by 1 and are shipping them to another park. Also heard that starting sometime in July they are going to have new music and choreography for the Parade. Has anyone else heard about this? Is this something they are doing to get ready for the new celebration?

Actually Cindy's snowglobe was just up on e-Bay. :) "Would make a great greenhouse!" :rotfl2: Unfortunately my PC here at work is really slow, so I'm sorry I can't search down the thread for you. :)

Yes it is true. I was talking to someone in entertainment on my last disney cruise (she worked at WDW) and she said they had just gotten word that the parade was changing. She didn't know when it was going to take effect though! I'm excited, it's time for a change! :thumbsup2

Wow, I had no idea. But I do agree that it is always nice to see a change up in the parades.

I think the CM's, oops I mean characters, liked the snowglobes, they had AC in them. :teeth: I guess it is back to 100 degree 100% humidity weather.

I can't imagine that they would take away the snow globes andput them back in the heat. Surely they will think of another way to keep them cool. Cinderella won't look so magical if she's sweating buckets and has a red face.

good point about the snow globes and air conditioning. but i still think they looked tacky. i'm glad they'll be gone. can't wait to see the new parade!

They do NOT have AC in them, because if If they did, they would fog up.

I don't think the new parade will start until October 2006 because Happiest Celebration on Earth will be done.

I also thought they didn't have any AC. If I remember correctly, we learned this during the KTTK Tour.

I would like to know if they have AC in them. I thought for sure they did. I can see maybe they would fog ... but they surely would have to have some sort of air coming in, or Cinderella would faint??? :confused3

But if a new parade is coming I guess it doesn't matter if the globes have AC or not.

Actually they do have AC in them - I just watched the 2006 Walt Disney World show on the travel network this weekend and they showed exactly how the parade worked, the computers and conditioning units in each float. It was pretty cool. I highly doubt anyone could be in full costume inside a globe with blazing florida heat and not have some form of cold air in there. It would be like sitting inside a car with no open windows

They had AC at first, but they fogged up, so they took it out. The charecters are standing on a trap door, so it they feel faint, they just drop to underneath the float.

(this per the KTTK tour)

The globes did originaly have AC in them, but that hasn't worked since the first year of the parade. And the globes were only cool because of the transformations that they did inside of them on occation. But that part of the musical track has since been removed. So the globes are comming, the princess castle is being removed and a new float is comming at the end of the parade.

Parades go through many incarnations before they are removed completly.
just look at DSMC the musical track is so edited from its orignal version the track loops a short 6 minute musical track when it use to last the whole parade.

I agree it is time for a change. I never really enjoyed this parade.

I also watched the travel channel program that said there was air conditioning on the floats.

I do agree that the snow globes would fog with air conditioning, but they would also fog with breath alone even with the holes in the globe, so I think there are fans that circulate the air. The globes with non-face characters have the "snow" that blows around so there are def fans in there. I don't recall seeing the "snow" with the face characters, prob b/c it would hit them in the face and would not be very attractive. But they prob still have the blowers that move the air.

I thought that they did have AC but who knows... I saw the parade this week and one of the globes was fogged up. I have a picture of it...
