Our luggage is falling apart after many plane trips. We are in need of new luggage and I'm open to suggestions. Not looking for sets as we check bags, so three large suitcases - one for each of us. Thinking something lightweight as we have never gone over, but come close to the weight limit most times.

Hoping to not spend a fortune, but want something that will hold up for awhile.

I am a big fan of Tumi luggage. It is expensive.......but they have a twice yearly sale (which will be coming up next month) and there are amazing markdowns on discontinued styles/colors.

Several years ago, I bought a set for my daughter and then it was such an amazing deal, I bought a set for me a week later!!!

I have some hard sided from ebags
Delsey is the brand name. Very lightweight and the hard sides will bend in if you push them.
So far so good -but we do not fly a lot.

I have always said that my next luggage will be LLBean rolling duffels. Lightweight, sturdy, roll, a number of sizes from which to choose.:thumbsup2

We recently bought 3 swiss army carry ons. They are wonderful and very sturdy. They also come with a lifetime warranty. They aren't cheap. I think I paid about $165 for each bag.

check out eagle creek luggage online at rei. its great! SO organized, lots of compartments and very lightweight.

I second LL Bean. I don't own any of their duffle bags, but all my other Bean gear has held up remarkably. Also, since I work at a summer camp, I see hundreds of Bean duffles taking abuse by kids, and they all still look great! I would really like one, but we're "luggage rich" right now...unfortunately we own 4 large suitcases, and 3 of the 4 are too big to fly with now. Add in all the duffles and backpacks and we have many bags for only 2 of us. When DH's duffle bag dies (it is not Bean, but it is 15 years old), I'll be getting a Bean one for me and handing my bag off to him. :)

I like the Swiss Army kind, too - the brand name is Victorinox. The label says they are the makers of the original Swiss army knife. I bought my older daughter a set of 4 pieces - small, medium and large suitcases and a tote bag - for Christmas several years ago. Still going strong. Two years ago the girls gave me the same set for Christmas and last year I gave DD15 her set for Christmas. We all love it - DD21's is pink, mine is green, and DD15's is blue. They have canvas sides and we do have a few marks from airplanes, etc. but the suitcases themselves are very sturdy and lightweight. Highly recommend them!!

Oh, *do* check out eBags.Com! Get on their emailing-list, they have great specials and sales all the time of designer/brand-name stuff. I've bought a few things from them. Also, check out Marshall's for good buys on designer luggage, that's where we've picked up our last few carry-ons.

agnes!

Do they have the sale on the Tumi website? I want to buy my "road warrior" a new carryon bag.
