New Lone Ranger film by Disney and Bruckeimer?

Just read an article at Rotten Tomatoes about a possible Lone Ranger movie by Disney and Jerry Bruckeimer. Entertainment weekly reports that Disney and Bruckheimer are saddling up for a Lone Ranger movie.
According to EW, Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot are working on a draft for Brukheimer and Disney. Rossio and Elliot were the duo behind the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy that just finished grossing obscene sums of money for Disney.
Of course, with the writers strike now going on, this whole thing could be sent to limbo. Time will tell, as well as the length of the strike.......... The article was dated October 25, 2007

Its wiki so take it with a grain of salt but...

"Tonto" (the name of the character's sidekick), in Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, means "fool" or "idiot" (although this appears to have been a coincidence, given the characters intelligent personality). In the Potawatami language (Potawatami being the tribe he was identified as belonging to in the radio dramas), the name translates as "Wild One". For spanish speaking audiences, the name was changed to "Toro", the spanish word for "bull".

In Spanish it means more or less "idiot". But as EUROPACL evidently the native american term is wild one. I still think they will be likely to change his name to be PC for a big release movie these days no matter what his Injun name might mean just to avoid any confusion over the Spanish definition.
