I tried out my new Canon 70-200 L lens at the parade the other day. I love the lens! I'm not too happy with a lot of the pictures, but it's not the lenses fault, it's mine. We got there only about 20 minutes before the parade started and we didn't get a good spot. There are a lot of heads in some of my pictures!
This one is just a clown. Sorry to anyone with a phobia of clowns!
I cropped this one a bit to take out the heads of the people in front of me. Other than that, I didn't do any editing. (I don't know how for starters!
)
Shooting Mode Manual Exposure
Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/640
Av (Aperture Value) 4.0
ISO Speed 100
Focal Length 84.0 mm
White Balance Mode Auto
This one is of some of the RCMP Members in the Musical Ride. Again the only editing was cropping.
Shooting Mode Manual Exposure
Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/320

I have a Canon XT.
I think the pictures turn out really crisp. I really like the lens. I only wish I had a better spot. I'll be going to another parade (much smaller, no Musical Ride!) during Labor Day weekend, where I'll be able to get a much better spot-at my grandmothers! So hopefully I'll have a few more pictures to share.
