New Lego Themed Set

It looks amazing, but so expensive! Lego is not a cheap hobby, but they are definitely so cool. Have fun putting it together!

Agreed it's not cheap but I think that we're going to be purchasing it as well.

If it's anything like the Death Star...once it's gone, the secondary market is going to be $$$$$ if you are looking for one.

Oh..... my word. My kids would FLIP if they could get this. But ugh, for us in Canada, this will be $520 :( Sorry. No Lego set in the world is worth half a thousand dollars.

I definitely feel the need for this in my life. My brother got the Lego Millennium Falcon for Christmas so maybe I'll ask for this :rotfl2:

I think it looks amazing! And am actually contemplating the purchase....

It's funny the DIS is full of people who pay outrageous amounts for an experience at Disney. Figure for my family to go spend a couple extra morning hours at HS it's going to be about $300. And that's over in a couple hours--do things that we could do later in the day much cheaper! People do it and don't think twice. But mention $350 for a Lego set and people think it's crazy. Well, it's going to take us a whole heck of a lot longer than a couple hours to put together a 4,000-piece Lego set and then we're going to have something amazing to keep forever.

Put in that perspective $350 doesn't seem so bad...

Did you get the set of Disney character mini figures in the US? They were £2.99 originally - now £6, 7, 8 each on Amazon! They are increasing in value here in the UK so I'm sure this will do the same!

People pay very different things for vacation and a toy. I am definitely willing to pay $200-300 for a once in a life time experience on vacation, which will leave us with life-time memories. I am not willing to spend $400-500 on a toy that will be played with for a few months and then sit collecting dust and eventually be forgotten about. Building Lego is by no means an exclusive experience.

lol. We bought a few here. We used them as rewards, and I let the children buy one a week, as a reward for behavior/chores etc... They were $3.99 + tax here in Canada. They haven't brought any more in unfortunately.

DH is a Lego enthusiast. We have more Lego than I care to admit, but this is the first set I asked him to buy and put together for me.

I agree I t's going to be a good investment for someone interested. I'm predicting that we won't have to wait to see resale value. I think the resale market will take off on release day as stores start to run out. Once it's discontinued-- oh, my.

This Lego set looks amazing! The detail is just incredible!

Oh, agreed. I would love a Haunted Mansion set!!

I saw that there is a Disneyland Haunted Mansion set that has been proposed on the LEGO ideas site. It passed the first threshold of 1,000 supporters in a year and now has 6 more months to get 5,000. To officially be considered for production, I believe they have to have 10,000 supporters.
