NEW Just got home! Feb 11-16 DDP with PICTURES.

Sorry that the tuna at Chefs de France wasn't up to par  . DS (18) is a VERY picky eater. We tried CdF last June while at WDW with DH's family and DS was bold and got the seared tuna and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it :woohoo: :cloud9:  :worship: :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :yay: (OK, he REALLY liked it :goodvibes !!). We are headed back to WDW next month and will be back at CdF. Actually, if he had it his way, we would eat dinner there every night, but I HAVE to have my Le Cellier & Kona and we do want to try Teppan Edo (which he discovered that he loved last year on our Spring Break trip).

Thanks for your reviews :thumbsup2 .

WHAT A GREAT REVIEW.... we have a Narcoosees Dinner planned and I am planning on having EXACTLY what you had and I CANT WAIT!!!!!!! and it looks so yummy.......... :)

Cant wait to read more... - thanks for the great report and pics

Great reviews and pictures! I've finally decided to add Narcoossee's to my list for our next trip.

Narcoossee's was one of our faves last trip too- your pics have me salivating. I had that key lime creme brulee and I still dream of it- so yummy. Those shrimps look TDF too- we had the crab cakes and they were dreamy.

THANK YOU for sharing- looking forward to more.

Ya i was pretty disappointed. I actually had the tuna last year and loved it, that's why we went back this year. But, things happen and nothing can be perfect all the time. It didn't put much of a damper on my evening, they replaced the dish and i loved the tenderloin. Good time was still had by all.

Valentine's Day was our "day off" of the parks. We decided to spend the day walking around Downtown Disney and have some lunch at the Earl of Sandwich. I had always thought the Earl was a chain, i was distressed to know that the only store is in WDW. I normally do not like sandwiches, but there is just something about the freshness of the ingredients, the crusty bread, and the warming that just gives me chills!

ME:

Salads Ready To Go - Pasta salad.
Ham N Swiss - Ham with aged swiss cheese and honeymustard sauce.
Cherry Coke

Beautiful ham, tasty-melty cheese, what more could you ask for? I don't know what it is about the Earl's bread, but it is amazing. The pasta salad was a little too vinegary. It was nice to find out that here at the Earl, you could get either a salad OR a dessert with your DDP.

DF:

The Full Montagu - Freshly roasted beef, roast turkey, mustard sauce, Swiss/cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato.
Chips - Miss Vicki's Sea Salt and Vinegar Chips.
Sprite

DF also enjoyed her sandwich. I think it lived up to all my hype. She chose to get a bag of chips for her side instead of a salad or a dessert. We liked that the Earl was so diverse in the choices available to accompany your sandwich.

We spent most of the rest of the afternoon in DTD, picking up gifts for friends etc. As it got closer to our Cape May Cafe reservation at The Beach Club, we headed home to change into our pirate garb for the Pirate and Princess Party that night. We were on a pretty tight schedule but had left what we thought was tons of time before dinner and then the commute to the Magic Kingdom. When we got back to the Marketplace we waited patiently for the bus to the Beach Club. And waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes later the bus pulled up and we were officially late for dinner. Buses this year seemed to be a little off. We've never had to deal with wait times like these before. Unfortunately, this caused us to have to wolf down our dinner at Cape May. If you've never been, Cape May is an amazing buffet of steamed shellfish, a carving station, salad bar, and hot bar. It's a 4 sided area packed with food. We've never missed eating here in the 18 times we've visited the World. Cape May is included in the DDP and is a great value even if you're paying OOP.

New England Style Clam Bake & All American Adult Dinner Buffet - All American Buffet and New England Style Clambake featuring steamed clams, mussels, corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, chicken, fresh vegetables and BBQ Ribs. Salad bar and Dessert selection also included. Served nightly from 5:30pm - 9:30pm

Since it was a buffet, here are some pictures of my plates:

Second course.

The steamed clams are excellent! As is the roast beef carving station. One of the things i love is the "Mickaroni and Cheese" on the Kid's section of the buffet. I don't know why, but it's good!

My favorite dessert. They used to call these Zebra Domes, or something to that effect. Now they're called Oreo Bon Bons or something. I could eat these all day, everyday, all the time!

We headed off to the Pirate and Princess Party a little late but very satisfied. At least we made it in time for the first parade. Phew.

Thank you for posting pictures of the Cape May seafood buffet. I just made reservations for our trip in April but haven't heard too much about this restaurant. Those pics made me happy I did!

Can't wait for more reviews!

On our second last park day DF woke up feeling very ill. This was not good! How would she enjoy the food! We headed to Magic Kingdom, hoping she would feel better with some fresh air and some good chow.

I've always found MK's quick service selection kind of limited in terms of quality. I was very happy to find the Columbia Harbour House a couple years ago. Not only does it have vegetarian selections, but it also has a TON of seating available. Gotta love not combing the place searching for the one lone open table.

ME:

#8 Garden Galley Salad - Mixed greens with chicken, pecans, pineapple and feta cheese.
Apple Crisp - Apple Crisp.
Lemonade

I was actually pleasantly surprised. Normally i have the veggie sandwich and soup combo, but this day i was feeling salady. The combination of pineapple and feta was a little odd, but it worked. The salad also came with a bunch of dressing options. I opted for the Olive Oil Vinagrette which was great. Much better than the normal Ranch/Italian/Blue Cheese offerings. By the time i got to the apple crisp it was quite cold. S'ok though cause again i was too full to worry about it.

DF:

#2 Fried Chicken Strips - Served with choice of French fries or apple slices.
Apple Crisp - Apple Crisp.
Sprite

DF picked at this plate. She felt that chicken strips might be ok for her troubled tummy. She said they were good, average fried fare. I tried the chips, they were pretty good too. She didn't finish her apple crisp either.

Since DF wasn't feeling well we bailed on MK early and headed back to Old Key West so she could nap and i could go to the pool. Who was i kidding? I ended up falling asleep too. We woke up just in time to head to the Polynesian with DM and DD for the much anticipated Kona Cafe. We had first tried this place last year after many recommendations from fellow disboard members. It was excellent last year and we were hoping it would not disappoint this year.

BUMMER. DM was too hungry to wait for apps and begged us not to order any. BOOOOO.

ME:

Shrimp and Scallops - Panko breaded shrimp and pan-seared scallops with sticky rice and Ponzu, spicy guava, passion fruit, and wasabi cream sauces.
Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart - Dark Chocolate and Macadamia with a pecan pie center.
Smoothies - Strawberry-Banana.

DSC_11430028.jpg

Wonderfully delicious, delicately breaded shrimp and perfectly seared scallops. Though the portion looks small, it is filling. I did ask for an extra side of wasabi cream sauce, but that's cause i love the stuff. I loved the added touch of roasted poppy seeds on the scallops.

Yes, i deviated from the Creme Brulee. I will admit it was a big choice, but it was worth it. This tart was great. So moist, so tender, and sooo nutty. I regret nothing!

DF:

Pan-Asian Noodles - Asian noodles with sliced chicken, seasonal vegetables, and a House made vegetarian stir-fry sauce.
Chocolate-banana Creme Brulee
Smoothies - Strawberry-Banana.

DSC_11440029.jpg

DF wasn't feeling well again. She opted for the noodles to again, not upset her stomach. She said they were tasty, but really didn't elaborate. The dish looked pretty sexy but not too complex.

DSC_11510031.jpg

She barely touched her Creme Brulee! That's how you knew she really wasn't feeling well. Lucky DM also had the Brulee and so we can take her review. DM said the Brulee was beautifully presented. She appreciated the taste of real bananas, not just banana flavoring. Also, the chocolate and the banana worked very well together, and the custard was very smooth. She would not give up her chocolate swirly decorative thing.

Kona Cafe did not disappoint once again! The only drawback is that the atmosphere is sometimes a little noisy due the high volumes of guests going through the lobby and the rabid numbers of children. lol. Overall a great experience not to be missed!

Loving your reviews!! Yum!! :cool1:

One thing though... the noodles at Kona looked sexy?!! Really?!! Yowza!!! :rolleyes1

I had to read that sentence 8 times, just to make sure you really said the noodles were sexy, but not too complex. It's an intriguing sentence!!!

Also, I want that chocolate macadamia tart. Now.

:yay:

Hi there ! Loving your food reviews so far, your pics are great ! (You're also making me hungry, and lunch is a while off yet . . . . )

There are actually a few EOS around; I've been to one in Ann Arbor, which opened last fall, but the manager there said that there were a couple of other franchises open also (maybe in West Palm Beach . . .? I can't remember). The good news is that if you are ever in the market for a new business opportunity, they have franchises available, lol :thumbsup2 ! Here's a link to their website which has menus, etc.
