New iPhones

I have a 4S now, I'm due for an upgrade 11/11 and we leave for Disney 11/15... I have no clue if I want to splurge on the 6 or save money for Disney and just get the 5. These are the things that matter in life, people! ;)

Question: can someone please advise what shipping service Apple uses? I think it is Federal Express with a signature required for delivery?

Thank you in advance :)

Good choice.

I was worried that I would find the large phone akward but I went in and played with the 3 and I like it. I really loved using the stylus and writing things and then being able to google them or save them. And that's the old model. They think it will be out by the end of the month.

A pity when it comes to Android is that many users don't run the latest version of the Android operating system...

This opens Android to digital attack, which in 2013 was a very serious problem.

problem with that is that the carriers dictate the release of the next OS version... vs the iPhone where Apple dictates the IOS release.

its funny how ppl attack apple... soo funny sometimes...

Well I went and looked at the iphone 5s and the note 3 so I could see the last version of each. I have a 4s. I am done with apple for now and am getting a note4. I didn't see anything in that presentation other then size that made me think it was so much better then my 4s. I wanted to be wowed or at least for there to be sapphire glass. The phone can be gorgeous. I'm still going to bubble wrap it because iphones break so easy.

I'm surprised you say that - I've dropped my iPhones tons of times - onto carpet, concrete, hardwood floors, you name it. My kids have dropped it a bunch as well. We've never had breakage or damage, and I don't even really keep a case on it (well, sometimes I put a flimsy rubber duck case because I think it's cute and it makes it easier to find in my purse). I even left my phone out in the backyard in the rain once and it was fine. I find them very durable.

It might depend on the model. Poster had a 4s. I believe the 5 models are more durable.

I had a 4 that was in an Otterbox Commuter and dropped it and the back glass shattered, even in the case.

I have a 5 now but I keep it in an Otterbox defender. I drop it quite frequently. :rolleyes1

Honestly, I am thinking I will just keep my 5 and my iPad, which I carry around all the time anyway.

In fact, if I want something larger, but not the 10" iPad, it would be cheaper to get the iPad 7" with ATT service and keep that.

I just can't see the logic in getting a bigger screen without some other major upgrades.

Yes, the stylus, the split screen, the stunning screen, the micro SD slot, the camera, processor, removeable/swappable battery, among the many features, make the Note 4 a great package. Enjoy Tig.

I still think smoke signals are the way to go

Is that you DH????? :rotfl2: My DH still uses an old flip phone that he just won't give up. And neither will it, apparently.

I am surprised to see others that don't care for the big size of the 6 plus. I am getting my DD a new phone too and she wants a Galaxy but doesn't like the big size (she said she feels like she is putting an iPad to her head :lmao:). Then she saw the Galaxy 4 Mini and decided that was what she wants. Cool - less money for me :thumbsup2

I ordered the 6 because I need a phone for my DS and will pass my old 4s down to him. I considered the 6 plus for about 2 seconds and realized how many times I pull my phone out of my bag and keep it in my pocket for easy access, etc. I just know it will already be a jump from the 4s to the 6, but I am not ready to go up to an ever bigger size. Maybe I'll save that for the iPhone 8 :rotfl:

People seem to love either the iPhone or Android... why is it impossible to admire - at least - both?

...

It's possible. I don't hate or even dislike iPhone at all. I prize it for its simplicity and ease of use, like the design. What I don't care for is that everything has to go thru iTunes. The Apps, the music, backup, etc.

If someone thinks it's too difficult for them to operate Android I'll always tell them to stick to the iPhone.

But I think that the times when iPhone was defining the cellular technology are over with.

I kinda sorta upgraded today. I had a 16GB iPhone 5. Was paying on it monthly through tmobile. I owed less than the trade in value, so I walked out with a 32GB iphone 5S for 0 down. So glad that space isn't an issue anymore. I'm happy with it.

Wait...

I just got the LG G2, which is not even their newest model (the G3 just came out).

It's got a 5.2" screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. 423ppi.

13 megapixel camera and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera.

So, why would I want an iPhone 6? More built-in storage? :confused3

If I want a watch, I can get the pebble for less than half price.
I just ordered a Pebble today. The Apple Watch looks nice but too expensive. I won't be afraid to risk the Pebble in daily wear like I would the Apple Watch. The screen of the Pebble is also better in sunlight.

All that said, I did order an iPhone 6. I have had Android phones in the past and they're ok. Forced close way too much for my liking and I have most of my apps and music from Apple.

There is one downside to the Apple Watch - it'll make you a target for muggers, much as the white ear buds with iPods once did.
