Hmmm, I am glad I bought with the freebie developer points rather than the $500 card. The extra points got us an extra week of vacation -- worth way more than $500.

We just took the plunge and joined on Thursday 3/6, with 160 points at Saratoga Springs. The deal they gave us was:

1. Points with a use year starting August 2007
2. $10 off per point
3. $500 giftcard w/referral

They said we had the choice of taking $10 off per point, or taking 160 developer points. Since they sold us points with the use year of August 2007, it was like getting the best of both incentives.
