New Hotels Coming to DLR Area

I have a refundable reservation for one night in April at the Candlewood Suites. They are at 1733 South Anaheim Boulevard,
Anaheim, CA 92805, which puts them near the Motel 6 and in this area you describe. I'm staying one night there before I switch to the Grand Californian. My plan is to have breakfast, although I don't think the hotel has anything except grab-and-go, and then take a Lyft over to the GC.

After seeing this, I'm considering paying more to stay in one of my usual locations on Harbor - Candy Cane, Park Place, or Park Vue, although those cost more and I am not going to the park from there. Alternatively, I might try Stovall's; I think I could probably walk up Disneyland Drive with my luggage the morning I switch.

If you are a solo female, I would definitely not stay there. Switch to literally any hotel on Harbor.

Am solo female. Thank you for this. Looking at my options now.

ETA: I booked the Candy Cane Inn, although Paradise Pier and the Springhill on Katella@Harbor caught my eye.

I noticed that the JW Marriott Anaheim is now accepting reservations starting May 1. Wondering how the walk from there to the gate of Disney Adventure Park would look like? From the location at 1775 S Clementine St can you take a left on W Disney Way, then right on S Harbor Blvd and left into the Disneyland Resort? Or is there no such shortcut and you have to go around via Katella Avenue to Disneyland Drive??? The latter would be a long walk and in that case the new Westin may end up having a better location. Thoughts? Is there an existing resort shuttle going that way or willing Uber drivers who don’t mind the short hop closer to park entrance (Disneyland Hotel?)?

The walk from GardenWalk to the gate isn’t that bad. From the JW Marriott you could go up Clementine to Disney Way and to the Harbor entrance as you describe.

You might even be able to exit the back of the JW Marriott into GardenWalk and save a little bit of time. But I’m not sure if it has been built that way.

I don’t see any reason to go to Katella and you definitely don’t have to go down to Disneyland Drive.

Also, the entrance on Harbor is more like the main entrance as it is closest to the parks, and the entrance by the Disneyland Hotel is more like “the back” of the property as it is farthest away from the park gates.

Thank you for confirming there is a Harbor entrance! I googled it and now recall seeing the green entrance with security. So JW would be totally walkable! I want to book it with points to check it out. They even have rooms with fireworks view!

Just used the measure distance function in Google Maps. Assuming I have the exit from the hotel correct, you are looking at about at a walk a little over half a mile to the main entrance (not security)
