New Holiday Inn at Down Town Disney??

Does anyone know anything about the new Holiday Inn in DTD? I think they are building it right now.

I can't believe they are FINALLY opening it back up.

It closed due to hurricane damage several years ago and has only been worked on now and then since.

I'm a little surprised that it's ready to be opened again. When we went by at the end of February it didn't look like it was anywhere near completion - in fact it didn't look like any work was going on. I think that there's a little disconnect between the website statement that the $25 makeover is complete and the lack of actual pictures of the hotel other than the distance picture of the top floors. Note that all of the other graphics in the picture category are conceptual drawings.

With the seemingly slow pace of construction in the Orlando area I'd be suspicious of them meeting their completion target date, whenever that is.

I agree - only I was there the end of March and it looked like little if anything had been done.

That's what it was when we stayed there in 2003. It was in September and they were running a $20.03/night special. The rate was good Sun - Thurs nights , with Fri and Sat night a little higher. I sure miss that deal!

They still have a few months to finish before they open. The website says it's accepting reservations for arrivals after Nov. 15th.
