New here ? about discount postcards

HI All,

I just discovered this site and have been reading all the terrific words of advice! Thanks

We just decided to finally take a family vacation to DW. The kids and I have been before but with my family and not Daddy. The last few times we have gone my family has rented a house off property, nice but our vacation will be on property. I prefer to stay onsite.

Okay now the question, for the past few years sometime during the summer I get a postcard from Disney advertising a reduced rate on hotel rooms during certain times. If I remember the value hotels were 49 and moderate were 79. We are planning our stay during the "value" season, after Thanksgiving before Christmas. Can I book a room then cancel and rebook on the same phone call with the "sale" price when I get a postcard this summer? If we can save 20-30 a night, needless to say we want to!

Any experience?

I have always book reservation before finding a discount code. I tell the CM on the phone I have exciting reservation and sometimes they say the dicount code can be applied to excisting reservation and other times they will rebook then cancel old reservations (on the same phone call). Make sure any special request get on the new reservations (nonsmoking, preferred, ect..)

www.mousesaver.com has most of the discount codes. Just keep checking a few months before your vacation date if you don't get a postcard this year. :flower1:
