Hi new here seems a nice forum so thought i would ask a few questions if thats ok.
So looking to back to florida next year but really dont know the best time of year to go, think we will have to take our daughters out of school for the trip as money is an issue.
So all things considered when is the best time to go, i am so excited so it has to be the first half of the year.
Thanks for any help
Steve

We've found early May is best for us. Good weather, no hurricanes and not baking, quiet parks and cheap flights.

If you are not restricted by school holidays I think the best times to go for a good combination of nice weather but not too hot and manageable crowd levels are April/early May (missing Easter) and October through to early November.

Summer holidays is a popular time to go because of the 6/7 weeks off, but the weather is extremely hot so if you are able to avoid it is best to.

i would vote for mid september :) i found it cheap enough price wise and still good wather wise

welcome to the disboards :)

Hi, Steve, and welcome to the DIS :goodvibes .

I agree with Johnny - April/May avoiding Easter will be your best bet for lower crowds and great weather during the first half of the year. The busiest times at Disney are Christmas/New Year, Easter, US schools' summer break (mid-June to mid-August) and Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November). It also gets busy during the schools' spring break (which seems to vary, but often comes straight on top of Easter) and President's Day (third Monday in February - often coincides with our half-term).

As far as weather is concerned, any earlier than mid-April and you could risk some cold spells, although we have had some remarkably good weather on two occasions in December and two more in January. We've found that several days of really hot weather have been followed by a cold snap, although the good news is that it doesn't rain much at that time of year. Frosts aren't unheard of in winter.

October always used to be our favourite time to go, but it's getting increasingly busy. It's still a good time to go, but maybe not the best. September is a very slow time, as is the first half of November and the period between Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas.

cheapest times are january, march (avoiding easter) and end september, I went last year on 23rd sep for 2 weeks, it was very quiet in the parks and really hot (a bit too hot really, for parks) if I could get a reasonable rate I'd go early/mid october but like Debs says its getting increasingly busy at this time as a lot of hallowe'em parties etc are on.

ask away, no matter how irrelevant or petty you think your question is, its bound to have been asked a hundred times before, and theres ALWAYS someone here who can answer it

Hi Steve :welcome: To the Dis!!!

We normaly choose to go in late Nov Early Dec. Our Dd's school doesnt seem to mind us taking her off in Dec because they're not doin much work just before Christmas, and it's nice and mild temp wise and not too buisy, in fact one year in Nov my Dd and me almost had MK all to ourselves for the first hour!! Excellent!!!

It's also lovely and Chrisrmasy and gets you in a festive mood before you have to come home.;) Price wise, it's not too bad either;)
