NEW Harambe Nights event Summer 2014 Animal Kingdom

So excited! August 2nd seems WAY too far away!!!

I know! I am so excited and thanks to the guinea pigs who have gone and posted their experiences, I'm not even worried if it rains. I know what to do and where to head (and where NOT to head). I hope it doesn't rain but at least not worried if it does

I'm on my way home now after being at Disney for a week and I just wanted to wish everyone going tonight a fantastic night. I hope the weather stays clear even though my daughter and I had a great time last Sat even with the rain. It was worth every penny and I'd do it again if I could.

Harambe Nights was a great way to kick off our first visit and definitely the highlight of our trip. Now home to start planning our next trip.

Great event!

We arrived at the park around 5 and received zebra show tickets. From zebra the orchestra blocks a lot of the stage. However I read - thanks to this thread - that higher seats are better. So we did not rush to enter the theater and got seats nearly at the top. We were able to see more of the stage that way. They also project the stage entertainment on two large screens. But I'd suggest trying to get one of the other sections - maybe get to the park earlier like 4ish :confused3 One surprise was that the bleachers had cushions - this helped a lot because it is a long show to sit in bleachers. The show itself is great - we really enjoyed it - the orchestra was fantastic - even if I complained that it blocked our view of the stage :goodvibes

The street festival was really great! The food was good too - There were several food and bar stations. Every station had the same offerings. Which actually worked really well for distributing people. We got into the first line we saw which was really long until a cast member said that there are a lot of stations. So there really weren't long waits once everyone figured that out.

Oh and we definitely felt like we got our money's worth of food, drink and entertainment. I don't drink alcohol but I love the POG juice at Disney's Polynesian and was thrilled they were offering this at Harambe nights. I definitely drank more than my fill. They also offered this with rum.

If they have this again next summer, we all agreed that we would go again!

Hope everyone has as much fun as we did!

We are so psyched for August 2nd! I'm so happy Disney's finally hit on something of value again! Normally we have to be dragged kicking and screaming to Florida in the hot months but for some reason we decided to take a chance on this event and I'm so happy we did.
We're not terribly picky peeps so let the rain come if it must. Not being here at work will be the best present of all! Yippee...
oh, yeah...gotta get back to work...
see ya real soon:cool1:

I was there and never waited more than 5 minutes for a drink. I didn't mind Pizzafari as we weren't there long, thought the lion king show was really spectacular and I loved the street parade. I think this was an extremely well done event by Disney.

How did you feel about this as a "solo" experience?
