Thanks for the kind words. :teeth: I think my head is going to asplode. :goodvibes

But a family of 12? Heh, I was going to try something smaller... approaching a family of 3 or 4... then maybe working up to 12! LOL :rotfl:

I may make it to DLR on Friday or Sunday, but doubtful. Will definitely be going Tuesday 10/17 and Mon-Wed 10/30-11/01. So I'm getting my card for sure... we'll see how I do getting extras...

(Just so I don't get any hopes up... I do have VMK friends for whom I naturally need to get the cards first... Heh, and I now need to try and get extra extras for Briar and Since ;) . I'll try, but no promises. :confused3 )

So seriously - Does anyone have any suggestions of what to say to people? I mean I'm not shy... but what sort of thing would you recommend I say to get them to let me borrow their tickets or get them to walk up to VMK Central w/Quest in hand and give me the resulting card? Anyone have any success stories they could share?

Oh, I meant not a family of 12, but 12 families. LOL!

I felt a bit sheepish not knowing I could have gotten Wanted Posters
for the asking last year. I did approach a man who was about to buy
a Splash photo if he didn't play VMK to let me have his prize card.
To my surprise, it worked!

I'm not sure how one would go about accosting total strangers in DLR
for turning in the quests. My guess would be to fill out as many of them
as you can, then read the body language of the strangers around
Tomorrowland. I'd approach anyone wearing Disney apparel.

And no worries if you can't get extras. Good luck! :thumbsup2

It isn't fair, some of us can't go to EITHER park and can't get any of these items period unless we trade :guilty:

aww those are so cute. i would love if someone could grab me one as well. I have a trip planned for the xmas party at wdw, if they do one for christmas i could get some for someone as well.

I'd be happy to trade for 1 pumpkin if anyone has spare.
I'll be fine for christmas, a close friend is going then :).

I am glad that I am going this month so I can get the pumpkin. Sorry for those folks who can't get there. The reason they are doing this is two simple reasons:
1. Disneyland is decorated for Halloween for the first time. (not counting Haunted Mansion Holiday.)
2. The 50th quest is now gone, so now they have a quest. WDW still has the Thrill Seekers Quest.
Might ask the CM for extras, so I might be able to gift a few DISers.

I was expecting a new quest but frustrated that DLR got another exclusive item. If Disney is trying to get more people to DLR why do they need VMK to do it? There has to be more of a reason than that and I would love for Yavn to tell us.

So my family spent 8 days in WDW last week, in addition to all the passes we bought there were 12 of us and we all went to the Halloween party twice, oh the money spent and not a single Mickey Pumpkin card amoung us but I do have a whole lot of Fantasyland Retro Pins :rotfl:

I think DL should be favored, DL was the first Disney park.

Well I can confirm that the new pumpkin does not come on the stand pictured in AshJoe's post above. I got mine at DLR yesterday. :teeth: It's just the pumpkin.

I did manage to get a couple of extra pumpkins. I had extra quests printed, pre-filled, and ready to go. I approached two parties - Both of which were sitting near the VMK Kiosk in Tomorrowland. I think that was key - they were sitting, not in transit going somewhere (one was a mother with infant in stroller waiting for her family to get off Space Mountain, the other was a man eating ice cream). I explained I was looking to get Disney "baseball cards" from that stand over there. I was honest and said I'd already got mine and each person could only get one a day, but I was trying to get a copy for friends. Both people I talked to were like "All I have to do is show them my ticket and this piece of paper?" Yup. "Ok." And they did it. I also waited for there to be no line at the VMK Kiosk, naturally. Anywho, I should mention to the kiddies out there: Don't try this at home. I'm a trained professional. Or something... :lmao:

I agree with this. I point out that VMK was invented as part of the DLR 50th Celebration, so I think naturally it makes sense for DLR to be the focus of VMK. And since DLR has lost the 50th Quest it needs a replacement. :rolleyes1

Of course it's easy for me to say that having access to DLR. I'm sure I'd be frustrated and sad if I lived back East.

If you or anyone else has any spare cards - even ones that you've used the codes from - that you could mail to me, I'll reciprocate by getting you whatever WDW-only stuff comes out next! :)

Are you saying you are willing trade a WDW-only stuff for a used card? Either way, I can send you a used card, PM me your snail mail.

If you're interested in getting a non-used card, check out my Pumpkin trade thread in my signature.

Well I'm impressed :cool1: I'm not sure I would have been able to go up to strangers like you did. You deserve the extra cards for going through all that. Hope you can trade them for something nice :)

That is really sweet of you to think of me. I understand, though, if you can't. Now that you posted your picture you probably have a large following ;)
