new grandma at disney

planning a trip with my dgs in sept. to have his first b'day there any grandmas out there with memories?

We are planning a trip for my DS 1st bday this sept with Dgma and Gdpa, I am having so much fun just planing with them, I can't wait for all the fun and special moments we will all have together when we go! They are so supportive of us and are so wonderful with my ds! We are surprising them with what resort we are staying at, I hope that they feel like they have had some when we arrive!

The whole fam came for my 50th when DGrD was only 5 mos - then we all went again when she was 18 mos. - then DD actually allowed me to take her all on my own in Dec. for MVMCP (she was just 3). We had more fun - and shared more wonderful memories (princess meals. . . parades. . . Dumbo!) than any "Oma" could ever hope to be blessed with !! I will treasure the pics from that trip forever! My only complaint was that my forearms hurt after the first 2 days of pushing her in the stroller about 8 - 10 hours a day - I actually had to take Advil the rest of the trip - those are the moments when I realize that I really AM aging!!
You will have a wonderful time - Enjoy!! I'm planning on taking her again (by myself or with DNeph - they spend their summer days together at my house) at the end of Jan. next year Isn't being a grandparent the BEST?!!! - I can't wait for more- and I will be bringing them all to WDW !!

Oma'thanks for the info i'm a Baci wanted to keep the polish alive another generation. being a baci is the very best like nothing I could have dreamed myDD is keeping where we are staying a secret and it's such fun. What a great memory to look back on a 1 b'day pictures and see your parents took you to see Mickey hope you see this it's my first post!

Welcome to the DIS, judyjg !! - you are going to have an awesome time celebrating your DGrS's 1st birthday - be sure to get him a birthday button at City Hall (and have your DD note it on her dining reservations - maybe he'll get a candle with dessert!) - It's so much fun when the CMs (and other guests) wish him a Happy Birthday - even if he won't remember it, you all will - and, like you said, he'll have the pics to remind him as he grows up !
