Looks like they are introducing a more healthy generic kids menu to various WDW table restaurants:

For Ages 9 and Under
Served with choice of kid's juice, milk or soft drink

Pita Pizza - with diced chicken and mozzarella cheese, served with shredded vegetable salad and brown-sugar apples $7.49

Just Dip It - assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad and yogurt $7.49

Chicken Strips - served with barbecue sauce, sweet potato sticks, green beans, carrots and yogurt parfait $7.49

Kid's Picks - choice of one appetizer, one entree and one dessert:

Appetizers: Vegetable Salad OR Chicken Noodle Soup
Entrees: Macaroni and Cheese OR Spaghetti and Meatballs
Desserts: Fruit Salad OR Ice Cream Sundae

Fabulous! :thumbsup2

I think my daughter will still be a chicken tenders kid while in the World though, but I appreciate the effort.

We've booked the DDP for our next trip and I can just see my youngest DD's face when we are all eating chocolate cake etc. for dessert when she gets yogurt or brown sugar apples! She will not be a happy bunny! I think that it would be ok to choose from the new menu for a trip that's just a few days, but I think it will get very boring day after day for two weeks. I think that we're going to end doing a lot more buffets or paying OOP for DD's TS meals.

There are several threads on the restaurant board complaining about the changes. There are a lot of unhappy parents!

Personally I think they look pretty awful. I would much have preferred the old menus for my son. As I have spent many hours looking at where he will eat ready for making the ADR's when the time comes, it has put a spanner in the works. There is room for both menus surely, there doesn't seem a great deal of choice, I hope there is still the regular chicken nuggets etc. at the buffets. I encourage healthy eating, of course, but we have, along with many others, a child with special needs who refuses to try anything slightly different. Let the kids splurge a bit on holiday after all most of the adults will, healthy eating issues belong at home IMO.

Ideal! :teeth:

We have all sorts of plans of how to feed Jospeh healthy sensible food during our forthcoming trip and some assorted fruits and vegetables and yoghurt sounds like just the job if we have to resort to it. Well done Disney :thumbsup2

I never looked at the old kids menus but I have to agree that this one doesn't seem very varied. I know I'd get bored if I was being taken to table service meals each night and had to pick from that menu for two weeks. I will agree that it does look relatively healthy in comparison to some stuff I've seen though, maybe this is a test run for a more expanded menu to come?
