new (for me) situation

My cousin was supposed to join us for one night at the world and I booked their room on points as a 50th anniversary gift. Long story short, they were unable to come at the last minute so the points have gone to the holding tank.

I've never had that before - and I don't have a trip planned before they expire. Do I have any options, or am I just going to lose them?

One option is to offer to use them for a reservation that you rent out to someone.

You will only be able to book something 60 days out or less from the date they may want, but you might be able to do this (if interested).

I also think holding points can be deposited in to RCI for a future exchange but have never done it and don't know how many you would need or how that works exactly. It might be worth a call to MS.
