New Florida Residency Requirements For Part-Year Residents

Ok, so here is my question, we live part time in NH and FL. Our mortgage statement has our billing address in NH, but the propety address in FL, as listed on the bill ( a few miles from the park ). Will this work? We both have NH ID's but with the mortgage statement with a NH billing address with a PROPERTY address in FL.

Any ideas?

Yes, it does work. We bought our Florida APs in August and showed our mortgage statement for our condo. The statement has our NY mailing address, but they look at the property address. As long as the property address is in Florida, they will issue you the tickets at the Florida resident rate.

Even without a Florida Driver's license? We bought a house in Florida, and settled just before Christmas. We will live there part time, and our son is living there full time. If we show the mortgage statement, will they require some other Florida ID or statement? I was told they would only take a FL Driver's license. Our mailing address on our bills for the Florida house is our Virginia address, however, the property address is listed as the Palm Bay address.

They require an ID but from another state is fine - go back to the original explanation. We pretty much have the exact situation as you but a condo. My husband just got an AP a couple of weeks ago using a condo bill and his IL DL.

How's about a tax return? Florida has no state income tax,.... anybody would want to be a Florida resident if they could! That saves WAY more than the Florida resident AP discount rate.

No they do not have a State income tax, but those that live here and work here do file a Federal Income tax return.. of which shows your address and your W-2's show your address and place of employment. So what does your statement of tax return have to do with anything. If you actually lived and worked in FL, you would still be filing a Federal return

Gosh!!! When did I say that?!! I must have posted that a long time ago and I don't remember why? Sorry! :confused3 I know that Floridians file federal income tax returns. I also know that there is no free lunch... I used to live in Texas, and they had no state income tax... but other taxes and fees are higher. Maybe I was responding to a statement that is no longer there. What I really would like to be able to do is get my son a Florida resident pass. He's the one who can visit as often as he wants. I can prove that I am paying the mortgage since it is MY house, but I"m not sure how to prove that HE lives there. He has a VA drivers license too. After adding up the fees for an initial registration, we opted to renew our truck tags for VA, even though the truck is there in Florida. I have a DVC AP renewal, so I think MY pass is actually less than the Florida AP. :cheer2:

Ok...edit here: I went back and found my original post on this... I was responding to a post by The Rusty Scupper... sorry... I still don't know where I was going with my last comment. It was a year ago!! haha
