New Fantasyland to open Dec 6th

We will be there Nov 15th-23rd. I am so disappointed because I was hoping that "Holidays" included Thanksgiving. :sad1:

Dec 6 has a morning EMH. Do you think they'll keep that? Do you think that FLE will even be open during the EMH? I'm assuming they'll have some ceremony or something, and would they do that with a limited number of guests at an EMH? (Well, probably more than usual at an EMH, but you know what I mean.)

Yeah, I think most people think the holidays start at Thanksgiving. So, I think they disappointed some people. Maybe you'll get lucky and get to see it in a soft opening? :confused3:thumbsup2

Oh man....we are planning to fly to Orlando on the 6th and then be in the parks the 7th - 14th (to celebrate my birthday). We haven't booked anything yet......but now I'm fearing the large crowds even more than I was before (we have never been in December)....

We're in exactly the same boat ... flying in on the 6th, planning to hit the parks from the 7th to the 12th. I really hope this doesn't increase the crowds our week. I wasn't thrilled to see Free Dining introduced for the latter part of our stay, but now there's two reasons to be concerned about crowds. Oh well, we'll be in WDW. We'll deal with whatever comes our way! Maybe it will mean lower crowds in other areas of the park.

December 6 is not actually the first day it is going to be open. That is just the grand opening date. It may actually be closed that morning for a media event after being open every day for several weeks before that.

I sure hope you are right! That would mean we will actually get to see it:thumbsup2 Wishing for some MAJOR pixie dustpixiedust:

Cool! Hopefully they'll have the kinks worked out in time for our trip in the first half of 2013:earsboy:

It's not going to increase crowds by very much over what they would have been anyway. That area will just be really crowded. The rest of the Magic Kingdom will actually be somewhat less crowded than usual right after it opens.

I hope you're right. We arrive on 12/10. :cheer2:

I can't help but worry about the crowds too. Maybe I'm silly to say but I bet the crowds won't be too too bad, since half the world will be there in the next few weeks around Christmas when all the school breaks are out. If it were me I wouldn't change anything to try and see a ceremony etc...that I won't likely be able to get into! We have already planned to be there on the 6th (seriously, what are he chances) including a BBB appt. I'm hoping we'll be able to see everything earlier in the week while we're there, and avoid it on the 6th!

Our trip ends on Dec 1st, I'm so sad I'm going to miss it:sad: Was really hoping it would be open for Thanksgiving!

We are comming home the same day too. (Nov 25-Dec 1)We are hoping that there are penty of soft openings like Disney tends to do.

Where are they putting the fairys?
And could somebody point me towards information on the new Little Mermaid Ride?

From DosneyParkBlog:

Previews of these attractions will begin November 19.
As previously planned, the New Fantasyland expansion will continue with the opening of Princess Fairytale Hall in 2013 and the debut of a new Disney “mountain” in the form of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in 2014.

What ever the crowds are like for you guys, I'm sure it won't be as bad as the opening of WWOHP. Our trip ended up coinciding with the opening of that area and we had to queue for 2 hours just to get into the area, then another hour for the first ride! :lmao:

FUN!!! We've been planning our trip for a year, and have had Magic Kingdom ADRs and first haircut appointment first thing the morning of the 6th since July. Hopefully we can make it to the front of the line -- at first it was like OH NO! Now its like whooohoooo cannot wait! Sounds like an exciting day, crowded or not, right? :santa:
