Are ya ready???

I hit the grocery store this morning and it was crazy!!!
Mom loaded up on gas, Dad brought in about 5 wheelbarrows full of wood. DH and I are headed out to Target to get the kids snow boots.

They are predicting 20 -24 inches here by tomorrow night.

I'm ready Mother Nature, bring it on!!!!

Patriots game is on - we're ready!

Stocked with food, gas, etc. Relaxing today so we can shovel all day tomorrow!

They are saying anywhere from 12-24 inches for us. The grocery store was crazy, but we only needed a few things. We were home by 9:30 with what we needed and then a few extras too.

I'm hoping no work tomorrow!

Sick day for sure.

Tell them you would have to be sick in the head to drive in that kind of snow.

Hoping everyone keeps their power and stays safe and warm.

* timing... Snow... Heavy at times will continue across much of the warning area this evening and overnight before beginning to taper off monday morning. Hourly snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches are likely this evening and tonight with possibly up to 2 to 4 inches per hour in the heaviest snow bands. the heaviest snow will likely occur across much of connecticut... Central massachusetts into southeast new hampshire. The eastern edge of the heavy snow overnight may extend eastward into the boston to providence corridor.

Yipes!

Hate hate hate this!!!

DH and I both have jobs that don't allow for "snow days" and the timing of this storm stinks. He's out driving in a blizzard until 11 tonight, which means I worry until he walks through that door! Then I have to be up early early to dig myself out and hope the streets are plowed enough for me to get to work. Hate hate hate this!!!

Get ready!!! wow! That's a lot! We have 5 inches here and it's still snowing! For us, that's blizzard of ginormous size! ;)

Goodf Luck to all of you in the midst of the storm! Keep yourselves safe.

Rebecca

PLEASE be sure you have an alternative method of keeping warm if your power goes out.

Even putting up a tent in the house will help as you have a less area to keep warm with your body heat. Use extra blankets or cushions to keep yourself up off the floor.

I will be keeping you all in my thoughts.

The snowfall is light at the moment but the winds have picked up.
Recycle containers are put up, I moved the trash can close to the house and we parked the trailer in the field.
DH has shoveled the path around the car twice, trying to stay ahead of it.

It's gonna be a long 2 days.

Our back up plan is mom's house. If the power goes out we will shut the main water supply off, open the faucets and head next door. Mom has a huge walk in fireplace in the kitchen with a woodstove. It heats the whole house.

We also have a kerosene heater in the basement. DH and I will run that on and off to keep things from freezing.

I am living vicariously through all of you and the book that keeps coming to mind in "The Long Winter" by Laura INgalls Wilder.
I wish all of you the best for going through this and sending you Arizona sunshine!

I'm ready and waiting on it. Just started here about 1/2 hour ago. trucks are all tucked out of the plow line and Tom is napping. All the family made it back to the other side of the mountian. so let it come I need a snow day to put my house back together and just relax. a 3 day work week would be nice.....
there are no back up plans here other than keep the road open and the animals fed and the furnace burning wood. if need be I can start the genterator for the blowers but usually just opening the basement door keeps it warm here.
I'm headed for a nice nap after all the christmas

stay safe everyone.

I saw the news and thought of you all - and after the fuss we make here about 8 inches:scared1: keep safe and warm everyone

It's still snowing here. DH's work closed for the day, which is a minor miracle. I'm just not going in. Even if I could get out of my driveway, it's just not worth my life if I get into an accident on the way there or home.

We have no back up plans if we lose power, other than a lot of snuggling. It seems as if the worst of the wind is over, so we should be fine. The roads are passable, but as I said, the driveway is toast. If we had to get out to get to a hotel, we could ;)

I'm thinking about all of you today--stay safe & warm!!!
