I was online looking last night and did not find much.I remember hearing about one in Falmouth last year along the shore but could not find it.

Va beach on Labor Day looks awesome but DH probably won't want to travel again(that far anywany)

There are a couple of good races coming up in February...

Half at the Hamptons in NH. Flat and fast course with ocean views. On February 15th.

Then there is also the Hyannis Half and Full Marathon. This is on February 22nd down the Cape.

There are a bunch of Wishers doing the Great Bay Half in NH in April.

I am looking for something in March. Let me know if you find anything that sounds good!

Right now the thought of running at the ocean in Feb.sends a chill through me.I am done running outside until March-BRRRR!!!

The Great Bay 1/2 I will look into.

The Hyannis I printed out yesterday.(Memorial Day weekend)

Are you doing the Applefest in NH in Oct.?( I know I said spring but thought I would mention it)

Linda

I'm doing Hyannis Half in Feb. It is going to be so cold.
Cape Cod Irish Village does a good 5 miler in May.
Falmouth road race is in August but fills up fast. I think the lottery is in May.
The Cape has great races almost every weekend from May to October I did a bunch last year and had a blast.
Boston has a run to remember that looks good. I might do it as a half.

Manchester has a race in November (early) that is either a full or 1/2 whichever you want.

August - Cigna 5K.

October - Race for the fallen I think also a 5K.

There used to be a Union Leader Classic in Sept but for us starting late morning in August was too darn hot. I don't think they had it in 2008. We didn't bother checking, it was too hard in 2007.

Linda: Groton (MA) Road Race 10K, 5K, 2K and tot trots. I think it's April 26th. It's super race for the whole family.

Megan: I plan on running the full at Hyannis. I sure hope it's not too cold. Good luck to you.

Cindy

You guys are making me jealous. I have been to Hyannis the last two years but am thinking of skipping it this year. WISHers in attendence may make me change my mind.

Here are some of the bigger races in Connecticut comming up soon.

The Colchester 1/2 - Feb 28
Danbury 1/2 April 5
Fairfiled 1/2 June 28
Johnny and Jessie Kelley 11.6 mile race in New London Aug 1.
-This is my wedding day but I want to "sneak" it in to keep my streak alive. Also it's free and one of NE Runner's "top 50".
Niantic Bay 1/2 Sept 20

You can check out SNERRO.COM for a full list of races in southeastern CT. I'd love to see someone at any and I will run a bunch of 5K's.

Change your mind Scott, run in Hyannis.

You should probably tell your future wife about your plans to run that race. It's never a good thing to have to "sneak" anything on the first day of your marriage.

I went back and re-read your race report from Hyannis last year. It seemed like it was a good race. Was it very windy? That's my big concern about the Cape in winter.

Cindy

Thy Hyannis is closed. Both Full and Half. Time to keep looking....

The Manchester Half is hellish with hills. :scared: But a good race if you are not a hill wimp (which I most definitely AM...flat and fast, if you please :rotfl2: ). I have a bunch of links to the New Enlgand races and I will post them here.

Good evening,

I am almost a New Englander since I live in la belle province of Québec and I was wondering if anyone is doing the Beach to Beacon race in August. Always wanted to do the race since Joan Samuelson is someone i respect a lot as a runner.
Does anyone know what kind of a course it is (hilly, flat, ...) and how difficult will it be to register on-line??? Is it true that it could fill in less than 24 hours???
Thanks for the info.
Diane

Hi Diane--

I will likely do the Beach to Beacon since it is local for me (half an hour away) and I know that Lisa (princessrunner) will definitely do it as well.

It closes fast, so you want to make sure you register as soon as you can.

It is a beautiful course...but with rolling hills. But also, pretty much anything goes...walk, run, juggle while running...that type of thing. :goodvibes

Hope this helps!

Hello,
I guess I will be on the computer on march 15 and will try to register. If I can register, I would stay most likely at the best Western and stay one night with a shopping day saturday at LL Bean:cool1:
Thanks

I am in for Great Bay.
We've done it that past two years and I do enjoy that race.
The hills, not so much.

I will probably do the Bradford (NH) 5k this summer.
My uncle has a house on Sunapee and we are always up that way for 4th of July.

I'd like to do Manchester this year as well.
I've wanted to do it, but for some reason or another November gets busy for us every year. I hope we can fit it in this year.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was windy but not too crazy. It was also cold but I still ran with my jacket around my waist for the last 5 miles of the 10K. I remember being very cold the year before during the full because I was walking a lot during the last 6 miles and my body cooled off. So yeah, it's pretty cold.

The lottery for the Mt. Washington Road Race is March 1 to March 15. They pick the lucky  runners shortly there after. This will be my second year entering the lottery. God I hope they don't pick me!!!;)

I did the inaugural Boston Run to Remember half with Lynne. I wasn't impressed. The organization was terrible, but hopefully they have worked the kinks out by now.

There's a 5 mile race in Lexington, MA on Patriot's Day (Boston marathon day). If I'm up to 5 miles near then, that's the one I'll do.

I've heard the Groton race is a great family day type event.

I used to live in that area and went to school in Groton, but moved to the midwest for college and beyond. I sure would love to do the Groton Road Race sometime.

Hey all!!

Diane, Beach to Beacon is TOTALLY worth the price of admission. Be forewarned though that this is a fast, fast, fast field. It is also moderately hilly and not an easy course in the big scheme of things. I did Hollis NH last year and this race was nothing compared to those hills!!

I am iffy on Great Bay. My SIL brought it up last week and said she would give me a couple weeks forewarning if she decides to go. I will be in training for the CMM full so it will be okay with me either way. I did like Great Bay a lot, again moderately hilly, 3 big ones back to back and the rest is pretty mellow. One quick one at the end and that's it.

Hollis, again, iffy on. It will depend on what I am feeling by that time. I have VAB in September so 2 close like that is something to consider. I would also consider the Maine Half Marathon in Portland or the MDI marathon both in October too.

Linda, you are doing VAB right......:hyper:

Lisa,
Unfortunately I have to hold off on any distance travel my DH lost his job yesterday.Oh joy!

So I really can't commit to anything right now.It did sound great.I looked it up and was interested, even spoke to Mike about it.
